CUET Exam Analysis Section Wise
Section 1: English
The focus remained on vocabulary and grammar with close to 70% of questions from the two areas. Questions based on synonyms, antonyms, spelling errors, fill-in-the-blanks, and para-jumbles were designed to evaluate one’s acumen in vocabulary and grammar. The questions based on passages were direct and factual.

Considering the common pool of candidates in JEE and NEET, the science-based papers are scheduled in phase 2 which starts in August. In the first phase, NTA is covering only the Commerce and Humanities-based subjects.
Commerce students had missed reactions today. While the Accountancy paper was easier, the Economics paper drew mixed reactions with some reporting it to be difficult and lengthy.
Political Science paper was like the NTA mocks given with emphasis on political developments, parties and their dominance, emergency and politics since independence. History was of moderate difficulty level with a qual focus on modern and medieval history.

The general test section was like the previous days. Questions in general awareness were a mix of current affairs and static general knowledge and covered a wide range of areas. Questions were from a wide range of topics including sciences, economics, geography, polity etc. Numerical ability-based questions were from algebra and arithmetic whereas reasoning was a mixed bag including visual reasoning

Overall, an easy paper and students were able to complete the same within 20 minutes.
Section 2: Domain Subjects

Together, the case studies covered 12 questions. One question was on Reason-Assertion. Quite a number of questions were based on female reproduction cycle and system. Match the following questions covered Scientists and their discoveries, Pregnancy avoidance methods. If one had covered NCERT well, the paper definitely was easy.
Section 3: General Test
The general awareness section focused more on static general knowledge. Questions based on first female Prime Minister, Study of Birds, moon, soil etc., Capitals and Country, Authors, Mughal Rulers posed no difficulty. Numeral ability had basic questions and if one had practiced well, they would have found the questions easy to solve. Questions were based on quadratic equations, geometry, time and work, time, speed and distance, HCF, Common factor, Trigonometry, BODMAS, Area, Rhombus, Simple Interest, Cone, and Percentages were easy and one would have definitely felt elated. CENTRAL UNIVERSITIES COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CUCET) 2021
In 2021 the full name of the exam was Central Universities Common Entrance Test or CUCET, which has been changed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2022 as Common University Entrance Test .
The CUCET 2021 was conducted between September 15 and September 24. The CUCET 2021 exam was conducted in two shifts i.e. morning shift and afternoon shift.
1. According to students who appeared for the CUCET 2021 exam, felt that the questions asked were from moderate to tough..
2. Questions were mostly from class 10-12 NCERT books for undergraduate students and for postgraduate it was mostly what was taught in graduation.
3. There was negative marking for UG and PG courses only as .025 marks were deducted for each wrong answer.
4. The quality of the question was moderate to tough, students could finish it on time. Attempting 100 questions in two hours becomes a little crucial but the MCQ pattern makes it a little easier.
5. The exam format was the same for all courses and programmes offered through CUCET.
6. Students claimed that calculations had to be done properly despite the questions being in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format.
CUCET 2020 Exam Analysis

Section-wise analysis of CUCET 2020
English Language
This was the easiest part of the exam. The questions in this part followed the pattern from previous years, which was an advantage for the students who had practiced using the previous year’s question papers.
Reading comprehension was the part of this section that was responsible for a lot of marks. Careful reading and analysis easily improved the score of a candidate. Other topics covered included synonyms, antonyms, vocabulary, etc.
The pattern and types of questions are as follows:
1. Reading Comprehension
2. Correcting sentences
3. Filling in the blanks
4. Identifying the errors
5. Identifying grammatical components
General Awareness
This section of the CUCET 2020 was easy for the students who are generally updated with current affairs. Others found it a little tough. Questions were asked regarding national and international events that took place in the past year.
Some general questions about history and science were also asked. The topics of current affairs asked are as follows:
1. Heads of famous companies and institutions
2. Awards and honors
3. Political News
4. Sports News
5. Environmental News
6. Eminent Personalities
Mathematical Aptitude
This section was a little tougher compared to the other sections as questions involving maths were asked. Though all the math questions were based on the basic knowledge you learned in school, students who had not taken the subject found it difficult. Candidates who had an interest in the subject found this section very easy.
The overall level of difficulty for this section was thus moderate to high. Some of the questions were very easy while some others were tricky. The areas from which the questions were asked are:
1. Algebra
2. Simple and Compound interest
3. Trigonometry
4. Statistics
5. Time, Speed, and Distance
6. Series and Sequences
7. Profit and Loss
Analytical Skills
CUCET 2020 followed the same pattern of previous year question papers for this section too. The section was overall easy, but there were a few questions that proved a little tricky for candidates. This made the difficulty of the section moderate.
The areas from which questions were asked for this section are:
1. Coding and Decoding
2. Series
3. Direction and Distance
4. Visual Reasoning
5. Reasoning and Assumptions
6. Blood Relations
Domain Knowledge
This section was a little difficult for students from streams other than the course specification they have opted for. Basic knowledge of the specialization that you have chosen is tested.
So students from the streams that they did in higher secondary school opting for the same in UG, like that of Commerce, Management, Mass Communication, etc. will find it comparatively easier than those changing their streams.
Major Highlights
1. According to students who appeared for the CUCET 2020 exam, felt that the questions asked were from moderate to difficult.
2. The questions asked were mostly from Class 10 and 12 NCERT books.
3. There was negative marking for UG and PG courses only as .025 marks were deducted for each wrong answer.
4. The exam was challenging but the questions were understandable.
5. The exam format was the same for all courses and programmes offered through CUCET.
