JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) Examination 2024: Latest Update
JEE Main 2024 dates have been announced by the NTA. JEE Main 2024 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. As per the schedule, JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 is January 24 to February 1 while JEE Main 2024 exam date session 2 is from April 1 to 15.

JEE Main 2024 dates have been announced by the NTA. JEE Main 2024 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. As per the schedule, JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 is January 24 to February 1 while JEE Main 2024 exam date session 2 is from April 1 to 15.
JEE MAIN(B.E/ B.TECH) EXAM PATTERN
JEE Main examination for B.E/ B.Tech is a computer-based online test that includes three sections namely, Physics Chemistry & Mathematics. Questions are based on Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and questions for which the answer is a numerical value, with equal weightage to Mathematics, Physics, and chemistry.
The question paper is divided into two sections (Sections A & B) with a total of 90 questions and a total of 300 marks. The time duration of the examination is 180 minutes.

1. The state of eligibility refers to the code of the state from where a candidate has completed the class 12th (or equivalent) qualifying examination.
2. It is important to note that the State code of eligibility does NOT depend upon the native place or the place of residence of the candidate.
3. If a candidate has passed Class XII (or equivalent) qualifying examination from one state but appeared for improvement from another state, the candidate’s State code of eligibility will be from where the candidate first passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination and NOT the State from where the candidate has appeared for improvement.
4. Candidate passed/appearing class 12th from NIOS should select the State of Eligibility according to the State in which the study centre is located.
5. For Indian nationals passing the Class XII (or equivalent) examination from Nepal/Bhutan, the State code of eligibility will be determined based on a permanent address in India as given in the passport of the candidate.

JEE MAIN 2021 IMPORTANT FACTS
1. JEE Main Examination is held in four sessions (February/March/April/May 2021).
2. Online Form Validity Period - Approx. 1 month.
3. The First session of JEE (Mains) was conducted from 23 to 26 February 2021.
4. The Second session of JEE (Mains) was conducted from 16 to 18 March 2021.
5. The Third session of JEE (Mains) was postponed and took place on July 20, 22, 25, and 27, 2021.
6. The Fourth session was conducted on 26, 27, 31 August, and 1 September 2021.
7. Counselling for the session 2021 starts on October 16, 2021.

JEE Main 2024 dates have been announced by the NTA. JEE Main 2024 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. As per the schedule, JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 is January 24 to February 1 while JEE Main 2024 exam date session 2 is from April 1 to 15.

STEPS TO FILL JEE Mains(B.E/ B.TECH) ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
1. Registration: The registration process for JEE Main comprises the below-mentioned steps. Interested candidates, before filling the application form, should ensure that they meet the JEE Main eligibility criteria. Fresh candidates applying for JEE Main need to register on the official website of the exam. Already registered candidates are not required to register on the website. Such candidates can sign in to JEE Main's official website with their old credentials.
2. Filling up the JEE Mains application form: Candidates need to fill their personal, academic, and contact details in the JEE Main application form and note down system-generated application numbers. They also have to create a password that will be used for future logins. Below are the details that the candidates should fill in the application form.
1. Exam - Choice of paper - 1 or 2 or both. Candidates must also select the preference of exam language in which they want to appear
2. Personal - Here candidates have to provide name, category, father's and mother's name, etc.
3. Communication - Candidates have to provide their residential and correspondence details.
4. Choose Password - Enter the password and confirm the same.
5. Security - Candidates have to enter security Q and A for further login on the website.
6. Review all the details before submitting the registration form.

Upload of Prescribed Documents & Images (Photographs and Scanned Signatures): upload photographs, signatures. and documents.After filling application form, candidates will be asked to upload the scanned copies of their recent passport size photograph and specimen signature as per the given specifications. 4. Choose your Test City Pay the Examination Fee: While applying, candidates have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allot the city of examination to the candidates in order of choice opted by them in their online Application Form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted. The candidates can pay the application fees in online mode only. For online payment, candidates can pay through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/Paytm/UPI.

5. Print the Confirmation page: The last step is to take four printouts of the confirmation page, after successful payment of JEE Main application fees. Candidates must keep this acknowledgment page till the admission process is over.

JEE Main(B.E/ B.TECH) EXAM FORM CORRECTION
The JEE Main Organizing Authority provides a one-time facility to make corrections to specific fields of the JEE Main application form. An additional fee may be charged for corrections on the JEE Main Application Form. The JEE main correction window is available after the last application form submission date. Corrections after the end date are not taken into account. The JEE main form correction function is equivalent to filling out the JEE main registration form of again. All the details except the exam mode can be changed/edited.

The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website jeemain.nta.nic.in subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions and receipt of the prescribed application fee by NTA..Steps for downloading JEE Main Admit Card are given below-
STEP 1- Visit the official site
STEP 2-Click on “Download Admit Card” link
STEP 3-You will be asked to enter Application Number and Date of Birth. Enter Required Details.
STEP 4-Review all the details – Candidate’s Name, DOB, Father’s Name and Mother’ Name and click on ‘Download Your Admit Card’.
STEP 5-Download your Admit Card in PDF form and safely keep the PDF for future reference.(For the JEE exam centre, it must be printed on an A4 sheet)
JEE Main(B.E/ B.TECH) EXAM RESULT
NTA will release the JEE result for each session separately. Admissions to the NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc. are based on the All India Ranks (AIR) List as well as the Category-wise Rank List. The result will be announced separately for both sessions. JEE Main(B.E/ B.TECH) EXAM COUNSELING
The Joint Seating Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for conducting the counseling process for JEE Main . Qualified candidates based on the outcome of JEE Main must apply for counseling in order to get admission to the NIT, IIIT, or GFTI. Interested candidates must complete the JoSAA registration process within the dates provided. Only registered applicants are eligible to participate in the JEE Main Advice . The JEE Main counseling by JoSAA includes many steps such as registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allotment, and payment of seat acceptance fee.JEE Main Counseling will consist of 7 rounds in total.
Seat Acceptance Procedure
1. Payment of Fees and Seat Acceptance: After seat allocation, candidates must choose one of the following options:
Freeze: Candidates who are satisfied with the allocated seat and course and do not wish to attend the JEE main conselling process may opt-out of it decide option.
Floating: Candidates who want to keep their assigned place but also want to upgrade their place (or course) can choose this option. This will lead you to further rounds of JEE Main Counseling .
Slide: Those candidates who want to keep their assigned place at the same college/university but want to upgrade the course to a higher tier course can choose this option.
Withdrawal: Candidates who have been allotted a seat under a course of preferred college but now do not want admission can withdraw their seat by informing the same to the institute before the last date of seat allotment.
2. Document review: Documents must be reviewed during reporting to the universities. This can be done through the uploading and online reporting.
3. Final report: After checking the documents, the candidates must report to the responsible institute and pay the remaining fee according to the university's study regulations.If a candidate does not show up at the university by the deadline the place will be canceled.

JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) 2024: Admission to the Examination Centres
1. One must reach the JEE Main Exam center at least 2 hours before to avoid any delay in the verification process.
2. Registration desk closes 60 minutes before the examination.
3. No candidate under any circumstances is allowed to enter the examination hall after the given timeline.
4. One must occupy only the seat allotted to them.
5. Before starting the JEE Main exam, a candidate must thoroughly read the instructions printed on the admit card.
6. NTA does not provide any transport allowance to the JEE Main Exam Center.
7. Printout of JEE Main Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website.
8. One recent passport-size photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet at the center.
9. Anyone valid photo ID proof in original (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar with photograph/ Ration Card with photograph/ 12th Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph).
10. PWD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if applicable.
Prohibited items at the exam centres
JEE Main Examination prohibits candidates from carrying the following things to the exam center. NTA does not take responsibility for any loss. Further, if a candidate is found involved in any malpractice or possessing the following, will be debarred from any future examinations.
1. Mobile Phones, Earphones, Microphones.
2. Calculator, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera or Tape Recorder
3. Any type of watch, including Electronic watches with a calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets
4. Any kind of paper, stationery, or text material.
JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) 2024: Admit Card
STEP 1- Visit the Official Website.
STEP 2- Click on the tab indicating “Download admit card’’
STEP 3- Enter the application number, and date of birth from the dropdown menu.
STEP 4- Click on “Submit”.
STEP 5- Check the details mentioned on the admit card.
STEP 6- Download the JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) admit card.
JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) 2024: Result
STEP 1- Visit the Official Website.
STEP 2- Now search for “JEE Main NTA Score” and click on it.
STEP 3- Choose the JEE Main session for which the candidates appeared.
STEP 4- Enter your JEE Main Application Number, password/date of birth, and security pin.
STEP 5- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
STEP 6- Download and take printouts of your JEE Main result for future reference.
JEE Main (B.E/ B.Tech) 2024: Mode of Selection
Admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, State Engineering Colleges in the Participating States, and Other Participating Institutions.
Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB):
1. Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through the Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class 12/qualifying examination. The candidate is also required to pass each of the subjects of the Class 12 / qualifying examination.
2. The Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be based on the announced qualifying Percentile by the individual Institutes.
The Joint Seating Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for conducting the counseling process for JEE Main. Qualified candidates based on the outcome of JEE Main must apply for counseling to get admission to the NIT, IIIT, or GFTI. Interested candidates must complete the JoSAA registration process within the dates provided. Only registered applicants are eligible to participate in the JEE Main Advice. The JEE Main counseling by JoSAA includes many steps such as registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allotment, and payment of seat acceptance fee. JEE Main Counseling will consist of 7 rounds in total.
Seat Allocation Process and Admission Procedure
1. Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE Main through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later by CSAB/ JoSAA.
2. Gen-EWS, SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates will be required to produce the original certificate as per prescribed formats issued by the competent authority at the time of the Seat Allocation/admission process, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
