Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, there shall be two-stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination.

RRB NTPC (STAGE I): MODE OF EXAMINATION
The Examination for Paper- I of RRB NTPC Examination will be held as a Computer Based Examination and will contain only Objective Type, Multiple choice based questions.
RRB NTPC (STAGE I) : MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION
Choice of Exam Language: English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected from the drop-down list of languages. The languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the Questions between English and the opted language, the content of the English version shall prevail.
RRB NTPC (STAGE I) : MARKING SCHEME
Negative Marking: There shall be negative marking for an incorrect answer in CBTs. Deduction of 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be made for each wrong answer.
Or
There will be negative marking and a 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
RRB NTPC (STAGE I) Important Note :
The 1 st Stage CBT is of a screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. The normalized score of 1 st Stage CBT shall be used for a shortlisting of candidates for 2 nd Stage CBT as per their merit. Candidates who are shortlisted for 2nd Stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, PwBD, and ExSM shall continue to be considered only against OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, PwBD, and ExSM for all subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
Normalization of Marks:
Marks will be normalized for all the stages of the exam involving multiple sessions.
CALCULATION OF NORMALIZED MARKS FOR MULTI-SESSION PAPERS: In 1st Stage CBT, for some 7 th CPC Levels in 2nd Stage CBT and for CBAT, the examination may have to be conducted in multiple sessions. For these multisession papers, a suitable normalization is applied to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions. The formula for calculating the normalized marks for the multi-session papers is detailed below:

RRB-wise shortlisting of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT shall be done at the rate of 20 times the vacancies (may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway Administration). RAILWAY NON TECHNICAL POPULAR CATEGORIES (NTPC) EXAMINATION
Candidates willing to apply for RRB NTPC Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. The criteria for eligibility RRB NTPC are decided by the conduction body itself.
The candidate’s eligibility for RRB NTPC Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-

3. RRB NTPC : Educational Qualifications
4. RRB NTPC : Medical Standards
5. RRB NTPC : Minimum Percentage of Marks
RRB NTPC EXAM: NATIONALITY
A candidate must be either -
1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person, in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Note:- A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
RRB NTPC EXAM AGE LIMIT & RELAXATIONS
The age limit of the candidates who are applying for RRB NTPC (UG posts) must be between 18-30 (33 for Graduate posts) years of age. Although there will be age relaxations for the reserved categories.

RRB NTPC EXAM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. The minimum Educational Qualification mandatory for candidates to possess for RRB NTPC Examination is set by the Railway Recruitment Board.
2. The Minimum Educational Qualification as set by Railway Recruitment Board for Graduate posts is Degree from recognized University or its equivalent & for Undergraduate posts is Class 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

RRB NTPC EXAM MEDICAL STANDARDS
Candidates called for document verification will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff.
The Medical Standards are outlined below :-

Note :- Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A2, A3, and B2.
Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the post(s) opted by them. In case of failure of the candidate to pass the prescribed medical fitness for the opted posts, he will not be considered suitable for empanelment for that post and no alternate appointment will be provided.
RRB NTPC MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF MARKS
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS- 40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
RRB NTPC EXAM ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS
The highlights of the eligibility criteria for RRB NTPC are given below :-
1. A candidate shall be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan.
2. A candidate should be atleast 18 years of age and should not be more than 33 years.
Note :- Certain relaxations regarding the upper age limit of candidates belonging to different categories is provided by Railway Recruitment Board.
3. Candidates must have a Class 12 Certificate for undergraduate posts & Degree from recognized university or equivalent for Postgraduate posts & Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on Computer.
4. Candidates awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed minimum Educational Qualification should not apply.
5. Candidates must fulfill the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) they are opting for.
Note :- In case the candidate is found to be medically unsuitable for the opted post at the time of appointment, alternate appointment shall not be given.
6. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage of marks in Stage-I CBT in order to get eligible for Stage-II CBT :- UR-40%, EWS- 40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) - 30%, SC- 30%, ST- 25%.

RRB NTPC (STAGE I) ANALYSIS
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) had conducted RRB NTPC 2021 CBT 1 exam from December 28, 2020, to July 31, 2021, across various exam centres spread throughout the country in two shifts. General Awareness
This is the section in which candidates face moderate difficulty, but it is also the section where they can score the maximum number of marks so long as they stay updated with the daily news and current affairs. The candidates should keep the following tips and tricks in mind to help them crack the General Awareness Section easily:
1. Reading the newspaper every day is a crucial habit that one must develop and also watching the news.
2. Candidates should be stay updated about national and international events with more emphasis on national events.
3. Static GK forms an important part of the general awareness section, candidates can find important Static GK topics on the linked page to prepare well for the GA section.
4. About 1-2 Mock Tests of the RRB NTPC Exam must be taken every day
5. Subscribe to a weekly Magazine of Current Affairs and read them diligently.
6. Moreover, candidates should not miss out on the areas of Business, Politics, and Economics and they should definitely take out at least 3 hours per day to practice on the General Awareness section of the exam.
General Intelligence and Reasoning
Candidates can prepare for the Reasoning Section very easily with the help of the following tips:
1. Reasoning can be strengthened by solving various types of puzzles and playing tricky games.
2. One can always improve their skills in reasoning and logic with the right techniques.
3. At least 4 topics of the Reasoning Syllabus in a day must be studied upon.
4. At least about 1 or 2 RRB NTPC Mock Tests on Reasoning and General Intelligence must be attempted.
5. Hands-on shortcuts can be tried from time to time but one must not rely on them solely.
Mathematics
Preparing for the Mathematics section is not a difficult task although it may seem like it. By devoting at least 3-4 hours per day to this section can enable candidates to easily crack this section with high marks. The following tips and tricks on the Mathematics section will prove useful for candidates:
1. The candidates do not need to prepare for higher-level mathematics subjects. Preparing up to the 12th standard level will be enough.
2. Candidates must ensure that they practice for at least 3 -4 hours per day and that no topic must be neglected during the practice sessions.
3. Candidates must have all the formulas and shortcuts at their fingertips.
4. More focus should be on the topics that are difficult and less time must be allotted for the easy sections.
5. It is not recommended to memorize the formulas. The development of an accurate and firm understanding of the numerical equations is the right method to prepare for this section.

The application process is online, Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the application form. The application process involves several steps, such as registering, completing the application form, uploading the required documents, paying the fee, and final submission. Candidates only need to fill out the application form with correct details, otherwise, you are responsible for rejection.
RRB NTPC (STAGE I) APPLICATION FORM FILLING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Candidates must keep the following details/ documents ready while filling RRB NTPC Application Form:
1- Qualification Details (such as Class 10th Roll Number/ Intermediate or Class 12th Details - Stream, Course, etc)
2- Recent Passport size Color Photograph with white/light color background
3- Scanned signature on white paper with Black Ink pen within a box of 50 mm x 20 mm
4- SC/ST Certificate (to avail Free Travel Pass)

STEPS TO FILL RRB NTPC ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
STEP 1- Visit the official RRB NTPC website
STEP 2- Click on the ‘New Registration’ link
STEP 3- Select the RRB to which you wish to apply
STEP 4- RRB once selected cannot be changed after the preliminary registration is completed and registration number is allotted
STEP 5- Confirm that you have read and understood the instructions clearly by clicking the check box
1- Registration Details: Enter your name, Date of Birth and Father‘s Name, Mother‘s Name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric Roll Number, Year of Passing, Mobile Number and email-ID and then submit for registration. Before submitting for registration, ensure and confirm that all the information given in the application form is correct. The email and mobile number will be verified during the Online Application process with a One Time Password (OTP).
2- Verification of Email ID and Mobile Number through OTP: On submitting the primary details, OTPs will be sent to the registered mobile number and email. Candidates can retrieve the OTPs from email ID and mobile number. They need to enter OTPs to proceed with the filling up of the application and to make payment through OTP activation link.
3- Generation of Registration Number: On successful OTP activation, the registration number will be generated. This will also be sent on the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates.
4- Filling Online Application Form: Candidates can proceed with the online application form by clicking the ‘Candidate Login’ button on the home page by using the registration number and password. In Part I of the application page, enter Educational Qualification, Community, Gender, Religion, Ex-SM, PwBD, Minority, Economically Backward Class and Age Relaxation eligibility category and other details
5- Payment and Bank Account Details: On completion of the above application details, candidates will be redirected to the payment page. They need to choose the payment mode. Fee payment can be done through online and offline modes.

8- Choice of Exam Language: English is the default language. In case candidates want to choose any other language, they can select from the drop-down list of languages. Fill the details such as Mother Tongue, Moles/Identification Marks, Address, etc
9- Bank Account Details for Fee Refund: The application fee is refunded to candidates if they appear in the first stage of CBT. Candidates need to confirm their account to receive the refund of fees.
10- Upload Photograph and Signature: Candidates are automatically directed to the photo and signature upload part of the application
1- The size of the photograph should be 35mm x 45mm or 320 x 240 pixels
2- The photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format
3- The size of the photograph should be between 20 to 50 kb
4- The dimension of the signature should be 50 mm x 20 mm or 140 x 60 pixels

11- SC/ST Certificate Upload: Candidates belonging to SC/ST community who opts to avail Free Rail Travel are required to upload a scanned copy of SC/ST certificates.
12- Submission of application: At the end of the application, candidates need to agree to the declaration and submit the application form. After submission of the application, candidates may save the file as PDF and take printout of the application and preserve it for the record.
RRB NTPC (STAGE I) FORM CORRECTION
In case candidate/s had made any minor mistake or wish to edit any submitted detail after the final submission of an online RRB NTPC application form, they are required to pay a certain fee to modify the RRB NTPC Application Form.
1. Candidates need to pay a sum of Rs. 100/- (Non-Refundable) irrespective of the categories to edit the RRB NTPC application form.
2. In case of modifying the community/category status (SC/ST to UR or OBC), candidates have to pay an additional of Rs. 250 with the form correction or modification fee.
3. In case of switching from Ex-Servicemen/ PwBD/ Female/ Transgender to UR/ OBC (NCL)/ Non Ex.SM/ Non PwBD/ Male. etc., candidates have to pay an addition of Rs. 250 with the form correction or modification fee.
4. Modification to the application and registration details can be done for a maximum of two times only

STEP 2- Once you have selected the RRB Region, Click on the link ‘RRB NTPC CBT – 1 Admit Card ’.
STEP 3- Fill in the Registration Number received at the time of application and the password registered.

RRB NTPC: Who Can Apply
Nationality/ Citizenship
1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person, in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Note:- A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Education Qualification
1. The minimum Educational Qualification mandatory for candidates to possess for RRB NTPC Examination is set by the Railway Recruitment Board.
2. The Minimum Educational Qualification as set by Railway Recruitment Board for Graduate posts is Degree from recognized University or its equivalent & for Undergraduate posts is Class 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

RBI NTPC: How Can Apply
a. Candidates can apply for the notified posts of any one RRB only as per their eligibility through ONLINE application mode by visiting the official website of RRBs as listed at Para 20.0.
b. Read all the Information and Instructions detailed in this CEN thoroughly before starting to fill up the application by clicking the appropriate Link on the RRB website. It is essential that the candidate understands all information of this CEN correctly to prevent any mistakes while filling application.
c. Scanned documents in JPEG Format to be kept ready before filling the application
1. In order to ensure speedy filling up of application by the candidates, they should keep the following documents ready in digital form before logging in to the application page.
2. Candidate Photograph: JPEG image of size 20 KB to 50 KB (Please Refer Para 15.1(p)(3) regarding specification of photograph).
3. Candidate Signature: JPEG image of size 10 KB to 40 KB (Please Refer Para 15.1(p)(4)&(5)regarding specification of signature).
4. SC/ST Certificate (Only for candidates seeking Free Travel Pass): JPEG image of size 50 KB to 100 KB. (Please Refer Para 15.1(q) regarding SC/ST Certificate upload).
5. Scribe Photo (wherever applicable): JPEG image of size 20 KB to 50 KB (Please Refer Para 15.1(p)(3)regarding specification of photograph).
d. Check RRB wise Vacancies for the qualification and Reservation Category of the candidate:
1. The candidates are advised to check the Post Parameter Table and Vacancy Table in this CEN to ascertain vacancies notified against all RRBs and then decide the RRB for which they wish to apply and ensure that the RRB to which they CENTRALISED EMPLOYMENT NOTICE (CEN) NO. 01/2019 Page 24 of 70 wish to fill the online application is having vacancies for their educational qualification, community/category and eligibility in terms of age, medical standards, disability etc.
2. Candidates are required to go to the link provided for filling ONLINE application and fill up the personal details/Bio-Data, fee paid etc. carefully. They are also required to exercise their option/preference for Post(s), Railway(s)/Production Unit(s).
STEPS TO SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATION:
Part-I
1. Visit any of the zonal RRB websites that you wish to apply for.
2. Now click on the link labeled ‘New Registration’.
3. Choose the RRB Zone for which you are willing to apply.
4. Now, you must enter your qualification details and the community you belong to. After filling up the details click on the ‘Check Availability’ button.
5. Next fill up the registration form by filling up details like Name, Date of Birth, Aadhar Card, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Class 10th Details, Mobile no. , Email ID, and click on the ’Continue’ button.
6. After filling up the details, a box will appear which consists of all the details filled by you. Click on the ‘I have verified and confirmed that all the details furnished by me are correct’ box or if you wish to change or review the details then tick on the ‘red box’.
7. Once the registration process is completed, candidates will receive an OTP on their registered email id and mobile no to generate the registration number.
1. Login using the registration number you have received along with your date of birth and enter the captcha (if any).
2. Now, fill up the first part of the application form by entering the details such as marks obtained in class 12th, community, gender, nationality, religion, etc., and click on the “Save” button.
3. Select the model of the payment by which you wish to apply. Enter your bank details or take a print out of the post office challan to do the fee payment after 2 days.
4. Upload your photograph in the dimensions specified for the JPEG format, a signature is done in blank ink on any white surface and category certificate as per specified.
5. Candidates will also be given the facility to appoint a scribe if required.
6. Submit your application form.
7. Download and take a print of the same for future reference.
Payment and Bank Account Details
On completion of the above application details, candidates will be redirected to the payment page. They need to choose the payment mode. Fee payment can be done through online and offline modes.
RRB NTPC: Application Fees
Candidates will do the payment of the application fee dates through online mode and offline mode. The application fee will be refunded after appearing in the examination. Online payment can be made via Netbanking, Credit/ Debit/ Rupay/ Visa/ Master Card. Offline payment of RRB NTPC application fees can be made via E-challan where cash is to be deposited at SBI bank.
For Unreserved & OBC Category Male - INR 500/-
Women/SC/ST/PwD/Ex.Servicemen - INR 250/-
Note: Aspirants have to pay the RRB NTPC application fees within the time specified in the official notification because the applications without payment will be rejected.

RRB NTPC: Scheme of Exam
There shall be a two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test (Computer-based Aptitude Test for Station Master and Traffic Assistant, Typing Skill Test for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper). Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerks, Commercial cum Ticket Clerks, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, and Commercial Apprentice, there shall be a two-stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination.

RRB NTPC: Admission to Examination Centres
1. Applicants are advised to visit the examination center 1 day prior to the exam.
2. The applicants should arrive at the exam center, at least half an hour before the exam initiates.
3. The applicants must carry the above-mentioned documents to the exam center.
4. Applicants should not carry any electronic gadget like a digital watch, mobile, etc. inside the examination hall.
5. Some exam centers may not have proper parking arrangements, so the candidates are required to make individual forms in this regard.
RRB NTPC: Admit Card
Candidates can download the RRB NTPC Admit Card by following the steps given below:
1- Visit the official RRB NTPC website.
2. Once you have selected the RRB Region, Click on the link ‘RRB NTPC CBT – 1 Admit Card ’.
3. Fill in the Registration Number received at the time of application and the password registered.
4. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
5. The RRB NTPC Admit Card/Hall Ticket will be displayed on the screen. Download your RRB NTPC Admit Card and ensure that you take a printout for the same.
RRB NTPC: Result
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released RRB NTPC results. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned step-by-step procedure to check RRB NTPC (STAGE I) result

RRB NTPC: Mode of Selection
RRB conducts the following events for RRB NTPC 2023 final selection.
1. First Stage Online Examination (PT – CBT)
2. Second Stage Examination (Mains – CBT)

6. Medical Fitness Test
7. Final Merit List.
a. The first stage of CBT is used for screening the candidates. In order to shortlist the applicants for the second stage of CBT, the first-stage marks will be normalized.
b. The candidates who clear the first stage of CBT will have to appear for the second stage of CBT. Candidates who pass the second stage of CBT then have to appear for the skill exam for the positions they have applied for.
c. The candidates who have applied for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper will have to appear for this test.
d. The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer only without editing tools and a spell check facility.
e. Candidates who clear the CBT-1 and CBT-1 and the Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test (where applicable) are called for Document Verification based on their merit. Selected individuals will be appointed if they pass the required Medical Fitness Test.
f. The candidates must fulfill the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. The applicants should refer to the medical standards for each post carefully as the candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) will not be given any alternative.
