1. Read the advertisement carefully, Before you apply.

General Instructions:

1.The candidates must read the conditions of eligibility as given at Item no. 2 carefully and must satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for the Test before filling the online Application Form.

2. If a candidate is already SET qualified in a particular subject, he/she cannot appear for this SET in the same subject.

3. Submission of Online Application is mandatory. Hard copies of application form will not be accepted by WBCSC.

5. Candidates must ensure that their e-mail address and mobile number (which cannot be changed later) to be registered in their online Application Form are their own, as relevant/ important information/communication will be sent by WBCSC through e-mail on the registered e-mail address and / or through SMS on registered mobile number only. WBCSC shall not be responsible for any non-communication / miscommunication with a candidate in the e-mail address or mobile number given by him/her other than his/her own.

6. All incomplete Application Forms will be summarily rejected.

7. Candidates shall ensure that the information entered by them in their respective online Application Forms is correct. Information provided by the Candidates will be treated as final. Any request for change in such particulars after the closure of correction period will not be considered by the WBCSC under any circumstances.

8. The WBCSC will, in no way, be responsible for any wrong/incorrect information furnished by the candidate in his/her Online Application Form. The letter/ e-mails/ WhatsApp Message/ Public Grievance in this regard will not be entertained by the WBCSC.

9. Applications submitted on any other format will not be accepted.

10. Print out of online application (Confirmation Page) should be kept by the candidate for further reference.

11. No applications can be submitted after the last date and no fee will be accepted after last date in any circumstances.

12. The refund (if any) will be transferred online to the concerned credit/debit card/internet banking account, so the candidates are advised to pay from their own credit/debit card.

13. The Candidate should note that their candidature is strictly provisional. The mere fact that Admit Card has been issued and the candidate is allowed to appear in the test shall not imply that the WBCSC has finally accepted his/her candidature.

14. WBCSC may change the Centre of Examination or date of Examination without assigning any reason.

15. Candidates shall appear at their own cost at the Examination Centre.

16. The candidates are required to bring a photo identity card also along with their print out of online Admit Card on the day of Examination. No candidate will be allowed to appear in the Examination whose Admit Card is not issued by the WBCSC.

17. In case it is found that the Candidate has used / uploaded the photograph and signature of someone else in his/ her Application Form / Admit Card or he/she has tampered his/her Admit Card / result, their candidature will be cancelled and liable for legal action.To ensure fair conduct of Examination frisking of the candidates will be done properly at main entry gate of the exam center. The candidates should report at the Examination center 1 hr 30 minutes prior to commencement of Examination and cooperate with the invigilators in frisking. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination center/hall after commencement of Examination. No candidate will be allowed to leave the Examination hall/room before completion of Examination in each session.

18. Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Books / Notes, Eatables (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room. Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Room/Hall is strictly prohibited. If any candidate is in possession of any of the above item, his/ her candidature will be treated as unfair means and lead to cancellation of the Examination.

19. The candidates have to follow the instructions given by the invigilators in the Examination hall/ room and should not argue with the invigilators or other staff involved in the Examination duty at the Examination centre. The candidates, who will not follow the instructions, will be treated as adopting unfair means and his/her result will not be declared.

20. In the Examination hall/room, the candidates will neither talk to each other nor discuss any matter during the Examination. The candidates should not disturb the other candidates in the Examination room and maintain complete silence during the Examination. The candidate violating these instructions will be treated as adopting unfair means and his/her result will not be declared.

21. Candidates will not be allowed to write any question from the Test Booklet on the Admit Card or on any other paper.

22. The candidate shall have to return the original OMR Sheet of Paper I & II to the Invigilator before leaving the Examination hall/room.

23. Answer keys of all the papers will be displayed on the website www.wbcsconline.in after Examination (the exact dates will be notified later in the website). The feedback of answer keys will be accepted only through e-mail id along with processing fee which will be notified in due course. The WBCSC’s decision on the feedback of answer keys shall be final and the result will be declared on the basis of final answer keys.

25. The marks of all the candidates will be uploaded on WBCSC website soon after declaration of result. Besides this, WBCSC will not issue any marks sheet to qualified/non qualified candidates.

26. The certificates will be issued to all the qualified candidates which will be notified in due course.

27. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after declaration of result of SET will be entertained. There shall be no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of the questions after the publication of result. Therefore, candidates should not make any correspondence in this regard once the SET result is declared.

28. The record of SET Examination will be preserved up to 90 days from the date of declaration of result.

30. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

31. The decision of the WBCSC shall be final in all matters.

32. All legal disputes pertaining to this Test shall fall within the jurisdiction of Kolkata only. Further, any legal question arising out of the Examination shall be entertained only when raised within 30 days from the declaration of result.
