Educational Qualifications

Essential: • Master’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institute with specialization in Economics/Social Sciences with minimum 55% marks and strong exposure to research methodology and econometrics. • Experience in analyzing data using software such as STATA and NVivo. Desirable: • Prior experience in quantitative/qualitative research techniques; econometrics modelling is a plus. • Prior experience as a Research Assistant/Associate/Field Investigator is a plus. Specific Requirement: • Proficiency in spoken and written Telugu is essential for the Field Investigator position (due to intensive fieldwork in Andhra Pradesh).

Job Profile

The Research staff will report to the Project Director / Principal Investigator, Prof. Asmita Verma. Research Assistant: ➤ Assist in carrying out research projects. ➤ Literature review and gap analysis. ➤ Primary data collection through field surveys, interviews, and focused group discussions. ➤ Data scrapping and data collection from secondary sources (government reports, district plans, economic surveys, demographic surveys, previous research). ➤ Coordination with stakeholders and local communities for data collection and field visits. ➤ Assist in preparing draft reports, periodic reports, and organizing training programmes. ➤ Perform other related duties as assigned. Field Investigator: ➤ Extensive travel and stay in rural/semi-urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. ➤ Identification of respondents, obtaining informed consent, and administering structured surveys. ➤ Conducting in-depth interviews/FGDs and accurate audio/field note documentation. ➤ Daily data upload using KOBO Toolbox or similar platforms; onsite data validation. ➤ Liaison with ASHA/ANM workers, PHC staff, and village authorities. ➤ Maintaining field logs and expense statements. ➤ Any other field-level tasks assigned by the Research Assistant/Principal Investigator.

Key Skill and Ability Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Proficiency in Telugu (essential for Field Investigator position involving intensive field work). • Familiarity with data collection tools (e.g., KOBO Toolbox), data analysis software (R, STATA, SPSS), and econometric modeling. • Mature attitude and ability to discuss coordination/research issues with stakeholders and team members.

Work Experience

Candidates with experience in research work or research projects of similar nature are preferable.
