The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2026 notification for engineering posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Telecom disciplines. The recruitment also includes Scientific Assistant positions in the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A total of 1,748 vacancies have been announced under Advertisement Number HQ-C-3019/1/2026-C-3.

The SSC JE Recruitment 2026 notification was released on September 2, 2026, and the online application process started on the same day. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in, until September 22, 2026, by 11 pm.

SSC JE Recruitment 2026: Application Fee

The application fee for SSC JE Recruitment 2026 is Rs. 100 for eligible male candidates belonging to the UR, OBC and EWS categories.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and ESM categories are exempt from payment of the application fee.

Candidates who need to make corrections in their submitted application will be required to pay the applicable correction charges. The fee for the first correction is Rs. 200, while the second correction attracts a fee of Rs. 500.

SSC JE Recruitment 2026: Selection Process

The SSC JE selection process consists of Paper-I followed by Paper-II. Paper-I is a Computer Based Examination and is qualifying in nature as specified under the recruitment rules. Candidates shortlisted through the selection process will proceed to the subsequent stages.

For Junior Engineer posts in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), additional Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and prescribed physical and medical standards will apply.
