Candidates should have a complete understanding of the SSC JHT detailed syllabus before starting their preparation. Familiarity with the SSC JHT syllabus will assist aspirants in planning and organizing their study strategy for the exam. The SSC JHT syllabus is outlined below:
Exam Structure
Paper 1: Objective type, consisting of four sections — General Hindi, General English, General Awareness, and General Intelligence & Reasoning.
Paper 2: Descriptive type, consisting of translation (from Hindi to English and vice versa) and essay writing (in Hindi and English).
Skill Test: Typing speed test in Hindi and English (qualifying).

EXAM PATTERN
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test of total 200 Questions and 200 marks. The time duration allowed for is 120 minutes.

Mode Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test. It shall contain Objective Type Multiple choice questions.
Medium Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held bilingually English & Hindi Languages.
Marking Scheme Highlights
1- For each correct answer, 1 Mark will be awarded.
2- There will be negative marking of 0.25 Marks for each wrong answer.
3- No marks will be deducted for the Unattempted Questions.
Normalisation of Marks
The Staff Selection Commission has already decided to normalize the scores of candidates for the examinations which are conducted in multi- shifts to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different shifts.
The following formula will be used by the Commission to calculate the final score of candidates in the multi- shift examinations:

Minimum Qualifying Marks
Minimum qualifying marks in Paper- I are as follows:
1- UR: 30%
2- OBC / EWS: 25%
3- Others: 20%
IMPORTANT FACTS
1- Qualifying the Paper- I Computer Based Test is mandatory of each post.
2- Only Objective Type, Multiple choice based questions will be asked.
3- Total duration of the question paper is of 120 Minutes.
4- A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to the persons who are allowed use of scribe
5- Minimum Qualifying marks for UR- 30% OBC/EWS= 25% Others- 20%.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Aspirants must meet the eligibility requirements outlined below for the positions of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator, as specified in the SSC JHT Notification 2025.
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
A citizen of India or,
A subject of Nepal or,
A subject of Bhutan or,
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), and (iv) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

EXAM PATTERN
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test of total 200 Questions and 200 marks. The time duration allowed for is 120 minutes.

Mode Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test. It shall contain Objective Type Multiple choice questions.
Medium Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held bilingually English & Hindi Languages.
Marking Scheme Highlights
1- For each correct answer, 1 Mark will be awarded.
2- There will be negative marking of 0.25 Marks for each wrong answer.
3- No marks will be deducted for the Unattempted Questions.
Normalisation of Marks
The Staff Selection Commission has already decided to normalize the scores of candidates for the examinations which are conducted in multi- shifts to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different shifts.
The following formula will be used by the Commission to calculate the final score of candidates in the multi- shift examinations:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
A citizen of India or,
A subject of Nepal or,
A subject of Bhutan or,
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), and (iv) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
Age Limit
For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF: The crucial date for determining the age-limit shall be the closing date for the receipt of application from candidates . The age limit for the post is 18-30 years as on closing date of receipt of online application, i.e., candidates born not before 25-06-1995 and not later than 26-06-2007.
For all other posts: The crucial date for age reckoning is fixed as 01-08-2025 in accordance with the provisions of DoP&T OM No. 140l7/70/87-Estt.(RR) dated 14-07- 1988.
The age limits for other posts are: 18 to 30 years as on 01-08-2025, i.e., candidates born not before 02-08-1995 and not later than 01-08-2007 are eligible to apply.

The Physical and Medical Standard for the Post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are as mentioned above. Candidates applying for the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF must satisfy themselves that they fulfill aforesaid standards. The candidates may note that post(s) once allocated as per merit-cum-preference given by the candidates will not be changed subsequently due to failure of the candidates to qualify in these Standards. SELECTION PROCESS
The commission will select eligible candidates based on their performance across the four stages listed below. To be shortlisted for the positions of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator, candidates must pass each stage.

1. Based on the marks scored in the Paper-I; i.e., Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-II (Descriptive Paper).
2. Based on the performance in Paper-I & Paper-II, candidates will be considered for final selection. There will be separate category wise cut offs in Paper-I & Paper-II.
3. Final selection and allocation of Ministry/ Department/Organization will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I & Paper-II and the preference of Post(s)/Department(s) exercised by them.
4. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all stages of the examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time before or after the written examination, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled.
Resolution of Tie Cases
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregate marks in Paper-I & Paper-II, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another until the tie is resolved:
i. Total marks in Paper-II.
ii. Total Marks in Paper-I.
iii. Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
iv. Alphabetical order of the names of the candidates.

OVERVIEW
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator) Exam for the recruitment of applicants to the post of Junior Hindi Translator or Junior Translator in various departments under the Government Of India. SALARY STRUCTURE
The salary of government employees is determined according to government rules and may change periodically. The approximate salary for an SSC JHT is Rs. 35,400. The SSC JHT salary (by post) for 2025, based on the pay scale, is outlined in the table below:

EXAM PATTERN
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test of total 200 Questions and 200 marks. The time duration allowed for is 120 minutes.

Mode Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held as Online Computer Based Test. It shall contain Objective Type Multiple choice questions.
Medium Of Examination
The Paper- I of SSC JHT / JT Examination shall be held bilingually English & Hindi Languages.
Marking Scheme Highlights
1- For each correct answer, 1 Mark will be awarded.
2- There will be negative marking of 0.25 Marks for each wrong answer.
3- No marks will be deducted for the Unattempted Questions.
Normalisation of Marks
The Staff Selection Commission has already decided to normalize the scores of candidates for the examinations which are conducted in multi- shifts to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different shifts.
The following formula will be used by the Commission to calculate the final score of candidates in the multi- shift examinations:

Minimum Qualifying Marks
Minimum qualifying marks in Paper- I are as follows:
1- UR: 30%
2- OBC / EWS: 25%

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Aspirants must meet the eligibility requirements outlined below for the positions of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator, as specified in the SSC JHT Notification 2025.
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
A citizen of India or,
A subject of Nepal or,
A subject of Bhutan or,
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), and (iv) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Note
The Physical and Medical Standard for the Post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are as mentioned above. Candidates applying for the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF must satisfy themselves that they fulfill aforesaid standards. The candidates may note that post(s) once allocated as per merit-cum-preference given by the candidates will not be changed subsequently due to failure of the candidates to qualify in these Standards. It is reiterated that the candidates applying for the post of SubInspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF should cautiously go through the physical and medical standards required by CRPF. The Staff Selection Commission shall not make a re-allocation for those candidates whose candidature is cancelled on the grounds of non-fulfillment of physical and medical standards.

SELECTION PROCESS
The commission will select eligible candidates based on their performance across the four stages listed below. To be shortlisted for the positions of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator, candidates must pass each stage.

Medical Examination
Minimum qualifying marks in Computer Based Examination are as follows:
(i) UR: 30%
(ii) OBC/EWS: 25%
(iii) All Other Categories: 20%
1. Based on the marks scored in the Paper-I; i.e., Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-II (Descriptive Paper).
2. Based on the performance in Paper-I & Paper-II, candidates will be considered for final selection. There will be separate category wise cut offs in Paper-I & Paper-II.
3. Final selection and allocation of Ministry/ Department/Organization will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I & Paper-II and the preference of Post(s)/Department(s) exercised by them.
4. The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all stages of the examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time before or after the written examination, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled.
Resolution of Tie Cases
In cases where more than one candidate secure the equal aggregate marks in Paper-I & Paper-II, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another until the tie is resolved:
i. Total marks in Paper-II.
ii. Total Marks in Paper-I.
iii. Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
iv. Alphabetical order of the names of the candidates.
HOW CAN APPLY
The registration process for SSC JHT Recruitment 2025 began on 5th June 2025 at the official website. Candidates who are interested and meet the eligibility criteria for the SSC JHT exam must submit their applications by 26th June 2025. It is essential for candidates to ensure all information is correct, as providing incorrect details may result in the cancellation or rejection of the application.
The application form comprises two parts: Registration and Filling online application form. Candidates can follow the steps below to fill out the application form:
Part- I Registration
Step 1: For one-time registration, candidates need to click on the ‘Register Now’ link on the official Website of SSC.
Step 2: During the registration process, candidates need to enter: Basic Details, Additional Details, and Contact Details and upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature, and LTI.
Step 3: After submitting the basic details, candidates are required to confirm their mobile number and email ID.
Step 4: On confirmation of details, the registration number and password will be provided to candidates.
Step 5: Candidates need to read the declaration and click ‘I Agree’ button.
Part- II Online application form
Step 1: Log in to online system through your registration number and password.
Step 2: Click the apply link under the latest notifications tab.
Step 3: Some fields will be filled automatically from one-time registration.
Step 4: Candidates need to give their preferences for exam centers.
Step 5: Enter educational qualification.
Step 6: Complete your declaration by clicking on ‘I agree’ checkbox.

ADMIT CARD
The SSC JHT Admit Card 2025 will be available 4-5 days prior to the scheduled exam date for Tier 1, which is 12th August 2025. Candidates who have successfully submitted their online application for SSC JHT Recruitment 2025 can download their admit cards by logging into the SSC portal using their registration number and password.

RESULT
The SSC JHT result 2025 will be announced within a few months for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. The final result will be based on the combined marks from both papers. The official SSC JHT result will be published on the SSC website.
