Karnataka Common Entrance Test commonly known as KCET is regulated by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It is conducted for admission to the professional courses like Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma), Agriculture courses (Farm Science) and Veterinary courses.Candidates who desire to take admission to Medical or Dental or Ayurveda or Unani or Homoeopathy courses must qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam whereas candidates seeking admission to Architecture course through KCET must have qualified JEE Main Paper-2 or NATA to participate in KCET counselling.
KCET EXAM PATTERN
KCET Examination will be held as an Objective Type Offline Pen & Paper based Test. Question paper will contain a total of 180 Questions and 180 Marks, being 1 mark for each question. The total duration of the examination will be 240 Minutes.

Candidates willing to apply for KCET Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The criteria for eligibility KCET are decided by the conduction body itself. The candidate’s eligibility for KCET Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
1. Nationality
2. KCET Age Limit & Relaxations
3. KCET Educational Qualifications
KCET EXAM NATIONALITY
1. Candidates applying for KCET Examination must be a citizen of India & domicile of Karnataka.
2. All Candidates of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can also apply for the examination.
KCET EXAM AGE LIMIT
The minimum age to apply for the KCET is 17 years. There is no limit on maximum age.
KCET EXAM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
1. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the universities listed in the notification at VTU Website are NOT eligible and candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) are also NOT eligible.
2. The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination, 2nd PUC / 12th Standard, Whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks.
For Architecture course (B.Arch) :-
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam in all the subjects.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates and person with disability of mental retardation or mental illness (including Dyslexia)
For Engineering / Technology courses (B.E. / B.Tech) :-
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio- Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates
For B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects.
B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science, B.Tech (Agril. Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc. (Fisheries), B.Sc. (Hons) Ag. Maco
1. In the case of Agriculturist Quota, the merit list will be prepared based on 25% marks each, secured in concerned combinations in II year PUC (PCMB) & CET and 50% marks secured in the Practical Test.
2. Minimum of 50% marks in Practical Examination is required to claim seat under Agriculturist Quota. Further, Agriculturist Quota is applicable only for courses.
For Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)
1. Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates
2. In case of B.V.Sc & AH merit will be prepared based on 50% of Marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored in the practical test.
For B-Pharma
1. Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates
For 2nd Year B. Pharma
Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates
For Pharma-D
Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
For Naturopathy & Yoga
Passed in Q. E. with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Q. E. is eligible for admission to Naturopathy & Yoga courses.
Note :- Minimum Percentage is 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, Category–I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) Category candidates.
KCET EXAM ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS
1. Candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Candidate must be domiciled in Karnataka.
3. Candidate must be at least 17 years of Age.
4. Candidate must possess required Educational Qualification as per the course applied.
5. Candidates who are appearing in 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board can apply for this exam.

1. Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.

2. In case of B.V.Sc & AH merit will be prepared based on 50% of Marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored in the practical test.

Some of the major highlights of the KCET 2022 Biology paper are as follow:
1. All questions conformed to the prescribed syllabus revised by the Karnataka PU Board
2. Options such as "None of the above", "All of these" and "Both (A) and (B)" are used in many questions
3. In Q.No. 2 Student may be confused between Option B or C due to a spelling mistake in Option A
4. In Q.No19 The student is expected to choose an incorrect statement, namely option D. But in the English version, an incomplete statement in option B may confuse the student between option D and option B. However, the same statement B in the Kannada version is true.
5. A well-prepared student can achieve approx. 50-55 points in this paper.

KCET EXAM
Karnataka Common Entrance Test commonly known as KCET is organized by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It is conducted for admission to professional courses like Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma), Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharma), Agriculture courses (Farm Science), and Veterinary courses. 5. Print the Confirmation page: The last step is to take printouts of the confirmation page, after successful payment of KCET application fees.
KCET EXAM FORM CORRECTION
KEA will open the correction facility for the KCET application form in online mode. This feature allows candidates to edit/correct the information they submitted on the KCET application form. However, not all information is open for correction during the KCET Application Correction Period. You can follow the given steps to access the KCET Application Form Correction feature:
STEP 1- Go to KCET Official Website
STEP 2- Click on “Edit Karnataka CET Application”
STEP 3- The user -ID must be entered and the OTP generated and sent to the candidate's registered mobile number.
STEP 4- Enter the OTP number.
STEP 5- Required information must be edited and click submit.
STEP 6- The acknowledgment page must be downloaded and printed out by candidates.
KCET EXAM ADMIT CARD
Eligible candidates can download the KCET admit card with their credentials such as application number and date of birth. No candidate will receive a KCET Admit card by priority mail, email, fax, etc. It includes details such as the candidate's name, KCET number, test date, test time, and test center. On the day of exam candidates must bring an original government-issued photo ID and a blue or black pen. Along with the downloaded admit card, all the necessary documents, and items.

KCET EXAM RESULT
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will declare the KCET result at kea.kar.nic.in. Candidates will be able to download the result of KCET using their registration number. KCET 2023: Who can apply
Educational Qualification
1. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the universities listed in the notification at VTU Website are NOT eligible and candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) are also NOT eligible.
2. The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination, 2nd PUC / 12th Standard, Whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks.
Nationality/Citizenship
1. Candidates applying for KCET Examination must be a citizen of India & domicile of Karnataka.
2. All Candidates of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can also apply for the examination.
Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for the KCET is 17 years. There is no limit on maximum age.

KCET 2023: Who can apply
Educational Qualification
1. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than the universities listed in the notification at VTU Website are NOT eligible and candidates who have passed from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) are also NOT eligible.
2. The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination, 2nd PUC / 12th Standard, Whose result is awaited, may apply and appear for Common Entrance Test, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to any of the course, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks.
Nationality/Citizenship
1. Candidates applying for KCET Examination must be a citizen of India & domicile of Karnataka.
2. All Candidates of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can also apply for the examination.
Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for the KCET is 17 years. There is no limit on maximum age.

KCET 2023: How can apply
1. Registration: Go to the Official Website and then click the link 'New Registration'. On the home page of KCET, provide a valid email address, mobile number, and password. all communications regarding KCET will be sent to the email address provided at the time of registration.
2. Filling up the KCET application form: Candidates need to fill their personal, academic, and contact details in the KCET application form and note down system-generated application number. They also have to create a password that will be used for future logins. Below are the details that the candidates should fill in the application form.
Basic details: Here, candidates need to fill in the category, nationality, personal details, select exam centres, date of birth, gender, father's name or mother's name, address, etc.
Educational qualification, work experience & languages: Here, candidates need to enter details of their graduation such as year of passing, college, percentage of marks, grade (if any). They are also required to enter their work experience. Candidates are also required to enter the languages they can read, write and speak.
Preferences: Candidates need to enter the preferences of banks where they wish to work upon selection. SC/ST/Minority candidates can opt for pre-exam training in this part
3. Upload of Prescribed Documents & Images (Photographs and Scanned Signatures): Upload photographs, signatures, and thumb impressions as per specification. Images that are not as per prescribed specification shall not be considered and may lead to rejection of the application.

4. Choose your Test City Pay the Examination Fee: While applying, candidates have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allow the city of examination to the candidates in order of choice opted by them in their online Application Form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted. The candidates can pay the application fees in online mode only. For online payment, candidates can pay through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/Paytm/UPI.
5. Print the Confirmation page: The last step is to take printouts of the confirmation page, after successful payment of KCET application fees.

KCET 2023: Scheme of Exam
KCET Examination will be held as an Objective Type Offline Pen & Paper based Test. Question paper will contain a total of 180 Questions and 180 Marks, being 1 mark for each question. The total duration of the examination will be 240 Minutes.

KCET 2023: Syllabus
Syllabus for KCET is given below :-
Physics: Physical World and measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electronic Devices etc.
Chemistry: Hydrogen, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Environmental Chemistry, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry etc.
Mathematics: Sets, Relations & Functions, Principle of Mathematical Induction, Limits & Derivatives, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics & Probability etc.
Biology: Diversity in Living World, Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Ecology and Environment etc.

KCET 2023: Admission to the Examination Centres
1. The Examination Centre will be opened two hours before the commencement of the test. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic, location of the Centre, weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the Examination Hall.
2. The candidate must show, on-demand, the Admit Card for admission in the Examination Hall. A candidate who does not possess a valid Admit Card shall not be allowed to enter the Examination Hall by the Centre Superintendent.
3. A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If a candidate is found appearing in the Examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one, the candidature shall be cancelled.
4. During the examination time, the Invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidates to ascertain the identity of each candidate. The Invigilators will also put their own signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet and on the Attendance Sheet.
5. A candidate who comes late shall not be permitted to enter the Examination Centre under any circumstances.
6. Candidates must bring only the following documents on the day of examination at the test centre. Candidates who will not bring these will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
A) A printed copy of Admit Card downloaded from website with passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Application form pasted on it).
B) One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the Attendance Sheet at Centre during Examination.
C) Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original and valid and like PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card / Ration Card/ any other valid photo ID issued by the Government.
7. Candidates are not allowed to bring any barred item or any item which could be used for Unfair practices. Possession of any such article with the candidates inside the Centre premises will attract the penalties of unfair practices.

KCET 2023: Admit Card
Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download admit card for the KCET exam:
STEP 1- Visit the Official Website.
STEP 2- Click on the tab indicating “KCET admit card’’
STEP 3- Fill in the Application Number and Date of Birth. Click on Submit button
STEP 4- KCET Admit Card will be displayed on the screen.
STEP 5- Click on “Download KCET Admit Card”.
KCET 2023: Result
Candidates can check their result by following the steps listed below:
STEP 1- Go to the Official Website
STEP 2- Click the result link of KCET.
STEP 3- The registration page for entering the data opens in a new tab.
STEP 4- Enter the registration number and password (date of birth).
STEP 5- Submit the data.The result is displayed on the screen.
STEP 6- Please read the data printed on it carefully.
STEP 7- Take a printout of it and keep it safely for further use.
KCET 2023: Mode of Selection
Candidates who secure KCET qualifying marks will be able to participate in KCET Counselling Registration by registering themselves on the Official Website. Candidates can be able to get their documents verified throughout the KCET counselling. The probationary list of eligible KCET aspirants will be released. KCET counselling document verification will begin at its nodal centres. Candidates might participate in KCET document verification as per the rank-wise schedule.
