This is a once-off recruitment, not a regularly recurring examination, positioned at the state government (Patna-based) level.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for Bihar Vidhan Parishad (BVP) Personal Assistant (PA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Division Clerk (LDC), and Stenographer positions (Advertisement No. 02/2025) typically consists of a preliminary OMR-based written exam, followed by a post-specific skill test (typing/stenography/MS Office), and finally document verification.

The entire selection is done in only two stages. There is no interview.

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Examination This is an objective-type OMR-based exam of 100 questions carrying 400 marks (4 marks per question). Duration is 2 hours. There is negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer. This stage is only qualifying in nature. Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks (40% for General, 36.5% for BC/EBC, 32% for SC/ST/Female/PwBD) are called for the next stage. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted.

Stage 2: Skill Test (Main Qualifying Stage) This is the stage on which the final merit is prepared. All tests are conducted on computer. Candidates must qualify every part of the skill test. The details are as follows:

Private Secretary: Hindi Shorthand (100 wpm) + Hindi & English Typing (30 wpm) + MS Word Processing test.

Stenographer: Hindi Shorthand (80 wpm) + Hindi & English Typing (30 wpm) + MS Word Processing test.

Final Selection Only those who clear both the Preliminary exam and the Skill Test are considered for appointment. Document verification and medical examination are done after the merit list is prepared.
