Description
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates who made mistakes while filling out the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form to submit a fresh online application. The facility is available even to candidates who have already generated an Application Number or paid the examination fee.
According to the NTA public notice dated October 30, 2026, candidates can submit a fresh application with corrected details by November 22, 2026, at 11:50 PM. The decision follows representations from applicants who reported errors in their submitted forms.
NTA has clarified that only the last application for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the Confirmation Page has been generated will be considered valid. Candidates must also avoid appearing in the examination using multiple Application Numbers, as this may lead to action under the examination's unfair means rules.

Which JEE Main 2027 Application Will Be Considered Valid?
NTA has stated that the last successfully completed application will determine a candidate's valid registration for JEE Main 2027 Session 1.
Candidates who submit a fresh application will receive a new Application Number. They must enter their personal and academic details again and upload the required documents, including their photograph and signature.
However, submitting a new form alone does not automatically make it valid. Candidates must successfully complete the fee payment and generate the Confirmation Page.
If a candidate submits a fresh application but fails to pay the examination fee or generate the Confirmation Page, the earlier application for which both requirements were completed will remain valid.
Applicants should therefore verify all information carefully before completing a fresh registration.
Earlier JEE Main 2027 Application Fee Will Not Be Adjusted
Candidates planning to submit a fresh application should note that the examination fee paid for their earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the new application.
This means applicants who have already paid the fee must make a separate payment when submitting a fresh form.
Before making another payment, candidates should review the details entered in the application and ensure that all required information and documents are correct.
Candidates can read the official notice issued by NTA for complete instructions.
JEE Main 2027 Correction Window: November 27 to 29
NTA has advised candidates who need to modify only a few details in their submitted applications to use the correction window instead of submitting a fresh form.
The correction facility will be available from November 27 to November 29, 2026.
Candidates should review their application forms and determine whether they need a fresh registration or can make the required changes through the correction facility. They should also follow the instructions specified by NTA regarding the details that can be edited.
NTA Warns Candidates Against Using Multiple Application Numbers
NTA has clarified that candidates cannot use multiple Application Numbers to appear more than once in the same examination session.
Applicants who appear, or attempt to appear, in JEE Main 2027 Session 1 using more than one Application Number will be treated as having used Unfair Means (UFM). Appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the provisions of the JEE Main Information Bulletin.
However, NTA has stated that simply holding multiple Application Numbers without appearing in the examination using them will not, by itself, be treated as UFM.
Candidates should follow the prescribed application procedure and ensure that they appear in the examination only as permitted under the official rules.
