The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has cancelled the main written examination conducted for the post of Police Sub-Inspector on May 27, 2026. The examination was conducted in two shifts under Advertisement No. 05/2025.

In a notice issued on September 23, BPSSC stated that the May 27 examination had been cancelled due to “unavoidable reasons”. However, the Commission has not disclosed the specific reason for cancelling the examination.

A fresh date for the Police Sub-Inspector mains examination will be announced separately. Candidates are advised to wait for the official notification regarding the revised schedule and other examination-related instructions.

BPSSC SI Mains Exam 2026 Cancelled

The main written examination for Bihar Police Sub-Inspector recruitment was conducted on May 27 in two shifts. The examination was part of the selection process for Police Sub-Inspector posts in the Bihar Home (Police) Department.

Following the latest decision, the examination held on May 27 has been annulled. BPSSC has not yet released the revised examination date.

The recruitment process is being conducted under Advertisement No. 05/2025. Before the cancellation, BPSSC had already issued notices related to examination centres and admit cards for the mains examination.

BPSSC Warns Candidates Against Fake Information

BPSSC has also clarified that the cancellation is limited to the main written examination conducted on May 27. Reports circulating on social media claiming that the entire Bihar Police Sub-Inspector recruitment process has been cancelled are not based on the latest official notice.

Candidates should distinguish between the cancellation of the May 27 mains examination and any claim regarding cancellation of the complete recruitment drive.

The Commission has advised candidates to depend only on official communications published through the BPSSC website for information about the recruitment process.

Warning Against Touts and Brokers

Along with the examination cancellation notice, BPSSC has cautioned candidates against individuals claiming to possess unauthorised information about the recruitment process.

Candidates have been advised to remain careful about touts, brokers and other suspicious persons. The Commission has also asked candidates to inform the police if they encounter such individuals.

BPSSC has warned that legal action may be taken against persons involved in spreading misleading information related to the recruitment.

Fresh BPSSC SI Exam Date 2026

The revised date for the Police Sub-Inspector mains examination has not been announced yet. BPSSC will issue a separate notification containing the new examination schedule.

Until the fresh date is released, candidates should not rely on examination dates or other updates circulated through unofficial social media channels.

Candidates should regularly check the official BPSSC website for updates regarding the revised exam date, admit card, examination centre and subsequent stages of the selection process.
