The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the qualifying percentile for NEET SS 2025 from the 50th percentile to the 30th percentile. The revised result has been shared with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), making candidates who secured the 30th percentile or above in their respective question paper groups qualified for NEET SS 2025.

NBEMS has clarified that the question paper group-specific ranks declared on January 23, 2026, will remain unchanged. It has also stated that no fresh scorecards will be issued following the reduction in the qualifying percentile.

The original NEET SS 2025 result was declared on January 23, 2026, with candidates at or above the 50th percentile declared qualified at that time.

NEET SS 2025 Reduced Cutoff: Group-Wise Scores

The revised qualifying scores at the 30th percentile, out of 600 marks, are as follows:

No Change in NEET SS 2025 Rank

Candidates should note that the reduction in the qualifying percentile does not change the NEET SS 2025 question paper group-specific rank. The ranks declared with the original result on January 23, 2026, will continue to apply.

NBEMS has also clarified that candidates will not receive fresh scorecards because of the revised qualifying percentile.

MBBS Marks to Be Verified During Admission

NBEMS has stated that the aggregate percentage of marks obtained by candidates in all MBBS professional examinations, as entered in the NEET SS 2025 application form, will be verified against original credentials during admission by the counselling or admitting authority.

Where the MBBS aggregate marks were used to resolve a tie between candidates, the information will be mentioned on the scorecard.

If the information provided in the application form is found to be incorrect and was used to resolve the candidate's rank tie, the candidate's NEET SS 2025 candidature may be cancelled.

Candidates can check their question paper group-wise qualifying score by following these steps:

• Visit the official NBEMS website.

• Open the notification titled “Reduction in qualifying percentile of NEET-SS 2025.”

• Open the notification and scroll to the revised cutoff section.

• Find the relevant NEET SS 2025 Question Paper Group.

• Check the qualifying score listed against the group.
