The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) and examination forms for the Class 12 Special Examinations 2026 for students in West Asian countries. The official notice was issued on September 15, 2026.

Eligible regular and private candidates can submit their LOC or examination forms from September 22 to September 26, 2026. CBSE has stated that no examination fee will be charged for these special examinations.

The special examinations will be conducted for eligible Class 12 students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the regular examinations could not be conducted earlier.

Why Is CBSE Conducting Special Exams?

CBSE had earlier introduced an assessment scheme for declaring the results of Class 12 students affected by the cancellation of examinations in West Asian countries. The Board issued the assessment scheme on March 27, 2026.

Under the arrangement, results were prepared for eligible students whose examinations could not be conducted earlier. The special examination now provides eligible candidates an opportunity to appear in the subjects covered by the cancelled examinations.

CBSE has decided to conduct these examinations in 40 subjects following the applicable directions and its subsequent decision regarding the affected candidates.

Who Is Eligible for CBSE Class 12 Special Exams 2026?

Regular Candidates

Regular candidates must fulfil the conditions prescribed by CBSE, including:

• They must belong to a CBSE-affiliated school in the affected West Asian countries.

• Their LOC must have been submitted for the Class 12 Main Examination 2026.

• Their result must have been declared under the applicable Assessment Scheme.

• They can appear in the subjects permitted under the special examination.

• The result obtained in the special examination will be treated as final and will replace the earlier performance for the concerned subject.

Eligible regular candidates must submit their LOC within the prescribed schedule.

Private Candidates

Private candidates from the affected countries must also satisfy the conditions specified by CBSE. They must have submitted their examination forms for the Class 12 Main Examination 2026 and have their results declared under the applicable assessment scheme.

Eligible private candidates can appear in the permitted subjects and must submit their examination forms within the prescribed dates.

CBSE Class 12 Special Exam 2026: LOC Submission Dates

The LOC and examination form submission window will remain open from September 22 to September 26, 2026. CBSE has specified that no extension will be provided, so eligible candidates should complete the process within the prescribed period.

No examination fee will be charged from eligible candidates for the special examinations.

CBSE Special Exam Date and Date Sheet 2026

CBSE has not yet announced the examination dates or detailed date sheet for the Class 12 special examinations. The Board will share the examination schedule after completion of the LOC and examination form submission process.

Candidates should therefore regularly check the official CBSE website for the date sheet and further instructions.

Where Will the CBSE Special Exams Be Conducted?

The special examinations will be conducted only in the affected West Asian countries. CBSE has also stated that the examination centres will remain unchanged.

Candidates should check the subsequent instructions issued by the Board for details regarding their examination centre and reporting requirements.

Important Instructions for CBSE Class 12 Students

Candidates should keep the following points in mind:

• Submit the LOC or examination form between September 22 and September 26, 2026.

• No examination fee is required for these special examinations.

• Check the official CBSE notice carefully before submission.

• No subject change will be permitted.

• Candidates who were absent from the Main Examination 2026 for any reason are not eligible for the special examination.

• New regular or private candidates who did not appear in the Main Examination 2026 are also not eligible.

• No extension will be provided for the LOC/form submission deadline.
