The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the provisional answer key for 84 subjects of the UGC NET June 2026 examination on August 16, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access the provisional answers along with their recorded responses through the official UGC NET portal.

Candidates who are not satisfied with any answer given in the provisional key can submit an online challenge during the prescribed objection period. The challenge facility will remain available from August 16 to August 18, 2026, until 11:59 PM.

The UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted between June 22 and June 30, 2026, for 87 subjects. The examination is conducted to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions and admission to PhD programmes.

UGC NET Answer Key 2026: Details

The three subjects not included in the present release are English, Commerce and Sociology. UGC NET Answer Key Challenge 2026

Candidates who believe that any answer in the provisional key is incorrect can raise an objection through the online challenge facility.

The challenge window is open from August 16 to August 18, 2026, until 11:59 PM. A processing fee of Rs 200 is applicable for each question challenged.

The fee can be paid through debit card, credit card or net banking. Candidates should provide appropriate justification and supporting information while submitting their challenges.

Challenges submitted through email, fax, post, letter or any offline method will not be considered. The prescribed processing fee must also be paid for the challenge to be valid.

How NTA Will Process UGC NET Answer Key Objections

After the challenge window closes, the objections submitted by candidates will be reviewed by subject experts appointed by NTA.

If an objection is found valid on the basis of expert evaluation, the provisional answer key may be revised. The final answer key will then be used for evaluating candidates' responses and preparing the UGC NET results.

Candidates whose challenges are accepted will receive a full refund of the Rs 200 processing fee paid for that particular question.

NTA will not send individual decisions regarding challenges to candidates. Instead, the final revised answer key will be published on the official website before the declaration of results.

After the challenge period ends and the result is declared, no further objections or grievances concerning the answer key will be entertained.
