The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the detailed examination schedule for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II), 2026. UPSC NDA 2 Exam 2026: Examination Pattern

The NDA and NA 2 written examination will carry a maximum of 900 marks and consist of two papers.

The Mathematics paper, carrying 300 marks, will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The General Ability Test (GAT) will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and will carry 600 marks.

The written examination is designed to assess candidates who are seeking admission to the National Defence Academy and the Indian Naval Academy.

UPSC NDA, NA 2 2026: Selection Process

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be shortlisted for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Intelligence and Personality Test. The SSB assessment is conducted through a two-stage process at designated Selection Centres.

The first stage includes the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and the Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates who qualify Stage I proceed to the second stage.

The subsequent assessment generally includes the Interview, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, Psychology Tests and Board Conference. Candidates are evaluated on various aspects of intelligence, personality, leadership ability and suitability for service in the Armed Forces.
