Educational Qualification
Applicants must fulfil the following academic requirements:
Candidates should have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination recognised by the government, with Biology as part of the required subject group, from the UP Board or an equivalent recognised board.
Candidates must have completed a two-year Pashudhan Prasar Diploma from a Veterinary University or Veterinary College established under applicable law.
Candidates should have knowledge of Hindi written in the Devanagari script.
Preferential Qualification
Preference may be given to candidates who fulfil any of the specified conditions, including:
At least two years of service in the Territorial Army.
Possession of an NCC ‘B’ Certificate.
At least 15 years of continuous active service in the Remount Veterinary Corps as a Veterinary Dresser in Class-I or Class-II, along with having passed High School with Science or Agriculture as a subject.
Age Limit
The prescribed age criteria are:
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 40 years
Candidates belonging to SC, ST and other eligible reserved categories will receive age relaxation according to the applicable government rules.

UPSSSC Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari Main Exam 2026: Selection Process
The selection procedure for the Livestock Extension Officer post will be based on the Main written examination. There will be no interview stage.
The major points of the selection process are:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Main written examination.
Only candidates who appeared for PET 2025 and have a valid PET scorecard are eligible to apply.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination using their category-wise normalized PET 2025 scores.
The number of candidates shortlisted will generally be up to 15 times the number of advertised vacancies. Candidates securing the cutoff score, including those tied at the cutoff up to two decimal places, will also be considered as per the prescribed rules.
Candidates having a zero, negative or below-zero PET 2025 score, whether absolute or normalized, will not be shortlisted.
Candidates whose PET 2025 results are marked as under investigation (UI) or provisional may submit applications. However, their eligibility for final shortlisting and selection will depend on the outcome of the relevant inquiry.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Main written examination.
