The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has extended the deadline for submitting the Option Form for CAP Round-I counselling for three-year and five-year LLB programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates participating in the admission process can now submit their preferences until August 11, 2026. The earlier deadline was August 9.

The deadline has been revised because several law colleges are still in the process of securing approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and obtaining affiliation from the respective universities. As institutions complete these formalities, they are being added to the list of colleges available to candidates while filling their CAP Round-I preferences.

Maharashtra LLB CAP Round 1 2026: More Colleges Added

The Maharashtra CET Cell has informed candidates that the ongoing approval and affiliation process has increased the number of colleges available for selection. Applicants have therefore been advised to review the updated college list and complete their Option Form within the revised timeline.

For the three-year LLB programme, the number of participating colleges has increased from 93 on August 5, 2026, to 146. This means 53 additional colleges have been included in the admission pool.

The five-year LLB programme has also seen a significant increase in participating institutions. The number has risen from 56 colleges on August 5 to 101 at present, with 45 new colleges added to the list.

Maharashtra LLB CAP Round-I: Option Form Submission

With 98 colleges added across the two LLB programmes, the total number of institutions currently available for CAP Round-I admission has reached 247. The CET Cell has also indicated that additional colleges could be included if they obtain the required regulatory approvals and university affiliations.

Candidates should check the latest list of eligible and approved colleges on the official Maharashtra CET Cell website before locking their preferences. The addition of new institutions gives applicants more options while preparing their CAP Round-I Option Form.

The public notice was issued by the Commissioner and Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Mumbai. The notice, bearing number HED-1126/CR.No.25/CAP Reg 2026/1932/2026, was dated August 8, 2026.

Candidates seeking admission to three-year or five-year LLB courses are advised to submit and finalise their Option Forms by the revised deadline of August 11, 2026.
