Description

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has opened the CLAT 2027 registration process from 10:00 AM IST on August 3, 2026. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by participating National Law Universities can now submit their applications through the official CLAT admission portal.

The online application window will remain open until October 31, 2026, while the CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled to be held on December 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The Consortium has also confirmed that the examination pattern and syllabus remain unchanged for the 2027 admission cycle.

How to Apply for CLAT 2027

Candidates can complete the application process by following these steps:

  • Register using a valid mobile number and email address.

  • Fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details.

  • Select preferred examination cities and indicate your preferred National Law Universities.

  • Upload the required documents, including a passport-size photograph, signature, and category certificates (if applicable).

  • Pay the prescribed application fee through the online payment gateway and submit the application form.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (UG) Programme

Candidates must:

  • Have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks.

  • SC/ST candidates must have secured a minimum of 40% marks.

  • Students appearing for their qualifying examination in Spring 2027 are also eligible to apply.

Postgraduate (PG) Programme

Applicants must:

  • Hold an LL.B. degree or an equivalent qualification.

  • Secure at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree.

  • SC/ST candidates require a minimum of 45% marks.

CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern

The examination will be conducted offline using the existing pattern and will consist of comprehension-based multiple-choice questions.

The UG paper will include questions from:

  • English Language

  • Current Affairs and General Knowledge

  • Legal Reasoning

  • Logical Reasoning

  • Quantitative Techniques

Admissions through CLAT 2027 will be offered across 27 participating National Law Universities.

  • UG Seats: Approximately 3,952 to 4,100

  • PG Seats: Around 1,590
