The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released detailed instructions for conducting the Class 12 Supplementary Practical Examinations 2026. Students appearing for the practical component of the supplementary examination can check the official guidelines on the CBSE website.

According to the board, the supplementary practical examinations will be conducted from July 29 to August 4, 2026, while the Class 12 supplementary theory examination is scheduled for July 28, 2026.

Who Needs to Appear for the Practical Examination?

CBSE has identified two categories of students who are required to appear for the supplementary practical examination:

• Students placed in the compartment category due to failure in the practical examination only.

• Students placed in the compartment category because they need to repeat both theory and practical examinations in a subject.

Key Guidelines Issued by CBSE

The board has issued the following important instructions for schools and candidates:

• Students who need to repeat only the practical examination are not required to appear for the theory paper. Their previously secured theory marks will be carried forward.

• Candidates who have to repeat both theory and practical components must appear in both examinations.

• For private candidates, practical examinations will generally be conducted at the same centres allotted for the theory examination. If a particular examination centre does not have the required laboratory facilities, the concerned CBSE Regional Office will arrange the practical examination at a nearby centre.

• Schools and examination centres must use the official practical answer books supplied by the respective CBSE Regional Offices.

• Institutions conducting the supplementary practical examinations must upload the awarded practical marks to the CBSE portal on the same day the examination is held.

• Students are required to contact their respective schools or examination centres on or before July 27, 2026, carrying copies of their admit card and result/marksheet to complete the necessary formalities.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Admit Card 2026

CBSE has also released the Class 12 Supplementary Examination Admit Card 2026. Eligible students can obtain their hall tickets through the prescribed channels before the examination.

Candidates are advised to carefully follow all instructions mentioned on the admit card and stay updated through the official CBSE website for any further announcements regarding the supplementary examination process.
