The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the Class 12 Supplementary Practical Examinations 2026. The practical exams for all streams will be conducted from July 29 to August 4, 2026.

Students eligible to appear for the practical examinations are advised to contact their respective schools or designated examination centres by July 27, 2026 to confirm their exam schedule. Meanwhile, the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Theory Examination is scheduled to be held on July 28, 2026, with more than 2.5 lakh students expected to participate.

Practical Exam Rules for RP and RB Candidates

The practical supplementary examinations apply to students placed in the following categories:

• Repeat Practical (RP): Candidates are required to appear only for the practical examination. Their theory marks from the previous examination will remain valid.

• Repeat in Both Theory and Practical (RB): Candidates must reappear for both the theory and practical examinations.

Exam Centres and Evaluation Process

CBSE has clarified that regular students will take their practical examinations at their own schools, while private candidates must appear at the supplementary examination centres allotted by the board.

If a designated examination centre does not have the required laboratory facilities for a particular subject, the concerned CBSE Regional Office will arrange an alternative venue at a nearby school or examination centre.

To ensure transparency, Regional Offices have been instructed to appoint external examiners for all practical examinations. Schools and examination centres can nominate only internal examiners from among their teaching staff and are not authorised to appoint external examiners independently.

Schools Must Upload Practical Marks on the Same Day

CBSE has directed schools to upload students' practical marks through the official board portal on the same day the examination is conducted.

According to the board, the marks submitted online will be treated as final, and no requests for correction or modification will be entertained after submission.

The board has also instructed schools to inform students about their practical examination date and reporting time well in advance and coordinate with the Regional Offices to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.

Documents Required for the Practical Examination

Students must carry the following documents on the day of the practical exam:

• CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Admit Card

• Copy of the Class 12 marksheet or result

Candidates are advised to reach their examination centre on time and follow all instructions issued by CBSE and the respective schools or examination centres.
