The Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) has started the online registration process for the Uttarakhand Teacher Eligibility Test (UTET) 2026. Candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 in Uttarakhand can submit their applications through the official website.

The last date to complete the online application is August 3, 2026. Candidates must pay the examination fee by August 6, 2026 (11:59 PM). The board will also provide an application correction window from August 8 to August 11, 2026.

The UTET 2026 examination is scheduled for September 29, 2026, and will be conducted in two papers—UTET-I for primary level teaching (Classes 1 to 5) and UTET-II for upper primary level teaching (Classes 6 to 8).

UTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

UTET-I (Classes 1 to 5)

Candidates applying for UTET-I should meet any one of the following eligibility requirements:

• Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./BTC).

• Higher Secondary with 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed., as per applicable regulations.

• Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

• Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

• Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./BTC).

• Eligible Shiksha Mitras who have completed the approved D.El.Ed. programme through IGNOU.

• In-service primary teachers appointed in recognised schools with a valid UDISE code, as specified in the notification.

UTET-II (Classes 6 to 8)

Applicants for UTET-II must satisfy any one of the following conditions:

• Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed.).

• Graduation with 50% marks and a B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri degree.

• Graduation with 45% marks and a B.Ed., where applicable under NCTE norms.

• Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed. programme.

• Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. programme.

• Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education) recognised by RCI.

• Graduation or Postgraduation with 50% marks and a B.Ed., subject to the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification.

• Regularly appointed upper primary teachers in recognised schools possessing the required qualifications.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted, so candidates are advised to complete the registration process well before the last date.
