The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Class 10 Second Board Examination Result 2026. Students who appeared for the optional improvement examination can now access their results through the official CBSE websites as well as DigiLocker, where digital marksheets have been made available.

The second board examination, introduced for the first time in the 2026 academic session, gives students an additional opportunity to improve their scores. Under the revised evaluation system, the board will consider the higher marks obtained in either the first or second examination while preparing the final marksheet.

CBSE Introduces Two-Board Examination Model for Class 10

In line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE implemented a two-board examination system for Class 10 from the 2026 academic year.

While the first board examination remained compulsory for all students, the second examination was conducted on an optional basis for those who wanted to improve their performance. The initiative aims to reduce the pressure associated with a single board examination by providing students with another chance to achieve better results.

According to the board, the final marksheet will automatically display the best score secured by a student across the two examinations.

How to Download CBSE Class 10 Second Board 2026 Marksheet

Students can access their digital marksheet through DigiLocker by following these steps:

• Visit the DigiLocker website or open the DigiLocker mobile application.

• Log in using your registered mobile number or Aadhaar credentials. New users must complete the registration process before accessing documents.

• Open the Issued Documents section and select Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

• Choose Class 10 Marksheet/Passing Certificate 2026.

• Enter the required details, including your roll number, school number, and admit card ID, if prompted.

• Submit the information to view and download your digital marksheet for future use.

Students may also access their results through the official CBSE result portals or use the direct result link provided by the board.

Passing Criteria Remain the Same

CBSE has not made any changes to the minimum qualifying requirements for the second board examination. Students must secure at least 33% marks to pass the examination.

Those who fail to meet the minimum passing criteria will be required to appear for the compartment examination as per the board's existing rules.

More Than Five Lakh Students Appeared for the Improvement Exam

The newly introduced improvement examination witnessed significant participation, with over five lakh students registering for the optional second board exam.

Earlier in the year, the first Class 10 board examination recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.70%. The second examination was introduced to help students improve their academic performance before seeking admission to higher secondary courses.

With the announcement of the second board examination results, CBSE has successfully completed the first cycle of its new two-exam assessment system, which is expected to remain an important feature of the board's evaluation process in the coming years.
