Description
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2026 results on July 16, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) can now check and download their scorecards from the official NEET website.
The entrance examination was conducted on June 21, 2026, with nearly 20 lakh candidates appearing for the test. According to NTA, more than 11.21 lakh candidates have successfully qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical courses across the country.
The agency stated that the results have been published on schedule to facilitate the timely commencement of the counselling and admission process.
NEET UG 2026: Exam Overview
NEET UG 2026 was conducted at 5,440 examination centres located in 551 cities across India and 14 international cities. The examination was offered in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, and Urdu.
NTA also revealed that over 58% of the qualified candidates are female, while the majority of high-scoring candidates belong to the 17–19 years age group.

NEET UG 2026 Toppers
The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly achieved by Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal (Haryana).
Other key highlights include:
19 candidates secured more than 700 marks.
138 candidates scored 690 marks or above.
More than 93% of the top 138 candidates appeared for NEET UG for the first time.
Around 99% of these top performers were between 17 and 19 years of age.
The highest-ranking candidates came from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.

Result Processing Timeline
NTA completed the result preparation using an upgraded processing system that enabled multiple stages to be carried out simultaneously.
The important milestones were:
June 25: Provisional answer key released.
June 25–28: Objection window for answer key challenges.
July 13–15: OMR answer sheets and recorded responses made available.
July 16: Final answer key and NEET UG 2026 results announced.
Counselling Process
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MBBS and BDS courses. Admissions under the state quota will be handled by the respective state counselling authorities.
NTA has advised candidates to rely only on official sources for counselling updates. Aspirants should avoid fraudulent websites, phone calls, or messages claiming to offer admission guarantees, seat reservations, or score enhancement services. The agency has reiterated that it never requests payment or personal login credentials from candidates.
