The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank account details for receiving the examination fee refund. The decision was taken after a large number of eligible candidates failed to complete the required process within the earlier deadline.

The extension provides another opportunity for candidates to update their banking information and ensure that the refund process is completed successfully.

Over 11 Lakh Candidates Submit Bank Details

As per information released by the NTA, around 11,46,401 candidates had submitted their bank details by July 14, 2026. The agency has already started processing refunds for candidates whose account information has been successfully verified.

Candidates who have not yet provided their bank details have been advised to complete the process as soon as possible to avoid delays in receiving the refunded amount.

NEET UG 2026 Refund Submission Deadline Extended

The NTA has revised the last date for submitting bank account details to:

July 31, 2026, up to 11:50 PM

The previous deadline was July 14, 2026. Candidates who fail to update their details within the extended timeline may experience delays in receiving their examination fee refund.

Reason Behind NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund

The refund process was initiated after the NEET UG 2026 examination was conducted again. The original exam was scheduled for May 3, 2026, but was later cancelled following allegations related to paper leakage. The examination was subsequently re-conducted on June 21, 2026.

To compensate candidates after the re-examination, the NTA started refunding the examination fee directly to the bank accounts provided by eligible candidates.

NTA Releases NEET UG 2026 Scanned OMR Sheets

Along with the refund update, the NTA has also released the scanned OMR response sheets for candidates who appeared in the re-conducted NEET UG 2026 examination.

Candidates can access their OMR sheets through the official NEET portal by logging in with their application number and password. The agency has advised students to enter their login details carefully while accessing the documents.

The scanned OMR sheets have been made available after the release of the provisional answer key, allowing candidates to cross-check their marked responses before the final answer key is issued.

NEET UG 2026 Result Expected by July 20

The objection period for the provisional answer key will close soon. After reviewing all challenges submitted by candidates, the NTA will prepare and release the final answer key.

The NEET UG 2026 result for the re-conducted examination is expected to be announced by July 20, 2026. The result will play a crucial role in the admission process for medical courses across the country.

What Candidates Need to Do Now

Candidates who have not submitted their bank details should complete the process before July 31, 2026, at 11:50 PM to receive their refund without unnecessary delays.

Students who appeared for the examination should also download their scanned OMR response sheets from the official NEET portal and verify their answers before the release of the final answer key.
