The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released important instructions for candidates participating in the NEET UG 2026 counselling process. The board has advised applicants seeking admission under the Jharkhand state quota to update their category certificates, income and asset certificates, and other essential documents before starting the counselling registration.

NEET UG counselling in Jharkhand will be conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS programmes based on the state merit list prepared after the declaration of NEET UG 2026 results. JCECEB has instructed candidates to verify and update their documents in advance to prevent application rejection, discrepancies or issues during later stages of admission.

The board stated that candidates should ensure all required certificates and identity documents are valid and updated before applying for inclusion in the state merit list. This step will help avoid complications during the online counselling process.

Documents Required for NEET UG Counselling 2026

Category and Income & Asset Certificates

Candidates belonging to reserved categories or applying under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category must ensure that their certificates are issued by an authorised officer. JCECEB has specified that such certificates should not be issued below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Jharkhand.

The updated certificates required include:

• Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate

• Scheduled Caste (SC) certificate

• Backward Class-I (BC-I NCL) certificate

• Backward Class-II (BC-II NCL) certificate

• Income and Asset Certificate for EWS candidates

PwD Certificate for Persons with Disabilities

Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must submit valid disability certificates issued by authorised medical authorities.

As per JCECEB guidelines, certificates issued by RIMS Ranchi or Civil Surgeon, Deoghar (based on AIIMS Deoghar reports) will be accepted for candidates with deafness or hard-of-hearing disabilities.

Aadhaar Card Details

Candidates must ensure that their Aadhaar information is updated before applying for counselling. The details that should be verified include:

• Name

• Date of birth

• Gender

• Photograph

• Address

• Biometric information
