Description

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has stated that the state government is working towards transforming Haryana into a world-class knowledge economy centre. As part of this vision, the education system in the state is being strengthened through the approach of “Re-design, Re-imagine and Re-invest”, with major reforms being introduced in universities and affiliated colleges in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP).

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a programme at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar) on Sunday. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 7.58 crore.

GJUST Projects Worth Rs 7.58 Crore Inaugurated

The projects included the foundation stone laying ceremony for a girls’ hostel worth Rs 6 crore, aimed at improving residential facilities for students. He also inaugurated the Nursing Department building, constructed at a cost of Rs 1.40 crore, to enhance healthcare education and training facilities.

Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Khejarli Mahabalidan Smriti Shilp and Mata Amrita Devi Circle, developed at a cost of Rs 18 lakh. He also announced that the Nursing Block would be named after former Haryana Chief Minister Chaudhary Bhajan Lal.

NEP Implementation Strengthening Education System

CM Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Education Policy is being implemented across the country with the objective of establishing India as a global knowledge leader.

He highlighted that GJUST has achieved recognition for effectively implementing NEP initiatives and received the NEP Implementation Excellence Award 2025 (Gold Category) from the Haryana Government.

He added that universities should not only focus on providing degrees but should develop into centres of research, innovation and technological advancement. According to him, educational institutions must create strong connections between local industries and global technologies to contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047.

Focus on Environment and Sustainable Development

The Chief Minister encouraged citizens to support the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation by referring to the teachings of Guru Jambheshwar Maharaj and Mata Amrita Devi.

He said higher education should aim to create individuals who are ethical, socially responsible and environmentally conscious while also being equipped with modern technological skills.

Highlighting the contribution of Guru Jambheshwar Maharaj and the Bishnoi community, Saini said that environmental protection has been an integral part of Indian culture for centuries. He noted that Guru Jambheshwar Maharaj’s environmental philosophy, introduced in the 15th century, promoted harmony between humans and nature.

Guru Jambheshwar Maharaj’s Principles Remain Relevant

The Chief Minister said that the 29 principles of Guru Jambheshwar Maharaj represent values connected with environmental balance, social responsibility, compassion towards animals, water conservation, cleanliness, self-discipline and ethical living.

He emphasised that these principles go beyond religious boundaries and continue to hold significance in addressing modern challenges related to sustainability and social harmony.

Saini said Haryana’s development efforts are focused on achieving economic growth while maintaining a balance with nature and preserving the state’s cultural and environmental values.
