Description

The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) conducted its 25th Convocation Ceremony on July 11, 2026, awarding degrees to 526 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes.

The event marked a significant milestone for the institute, which began its academic journey with its first convocation in 2002, when only 49 students graduated from a campus with 496 students and 16 faculty members. Over the years, IIIT Hyderabad has grown into a leading research-oriented institution with 2,524 students, 114 faculty members, and an alumni base of more than 8,200 graduates.

The convocation highlighted the institute’s progress in areas including research, innovation, academic development, and industry collaboration.

Students Honoured for Academic and Overall Excellence

Several students were recognised for their exceptional achievements during the ceremony.

  • Maddireddy Kritin, a B.Tech student in Computer Science and Engineering, received the IIIT Hyderabad Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance.

  • Abhinav Digambar Raundhal, also from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering programme, was awarded the Best All-rounder Award for his accomplishments in academics, extracurricular activities, and contributions to the institute community.

Addressing the graduating students, Prof. Sandeep Shukla, Director of IIIT Hyderabad, said that convocation marks both the completion of formal education and the beginning of a journey of continuous learning and meaningful contributions. He encouraged graduates to apply their technical expertise to solve important real-world problems.

The chief guest, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their professional careers.
