The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya, has issued the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) 2026 admit card for candidates who successfully registered for the examination. The hall tickets were released on July 10, 2026, ahead of the state-level eligibility test scheduled to be conducted on July 24, 2026.

Registered candidates can access and download their admit cards through the official DERT Meghalaya website by entering their registration/application number and password.

The MTET 2026 examination will be held in offline pen-and-paper mode and will consist of two papers. Paper I is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to V, while Paper II is for those seeking eligibility for teaching Classes VI to VIII.

Candidates are advised to download their hall tickets in advance and carry a printed copy to the examination centre on the exam day.

Candidates can follow these steps to download their admit cards:

• Visit the official DERT Meghalaya website.

• Click on the MTET 2026 Admit Card link available on the homepage.

• Enter your registration number/application number and password.

• Submit the details to view the hall ticket.

• Download the admit card PDF.

• Take a clear printout and keep it safely for examination day.

MTET 2026 Revised Exam Schedule

The MTET 2026 examination was earlier planned for May 29, 2026, but the schedule was revised after Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced the postponement due to the deployment of several teachers for Census and Special Intensive Revision-related duties.

As per the updated schedule:

• Admit Card Release Date: July 10, 2026

• MTET Examination Date: July 24, 2026

• Expected Result Declaration: August 2026

MTET 2026 Exam Pattern and Candidate Support

The examination will be conducted in two shifts. Generally, Paper I will be held during the morning session, while Paper II will take place in the afternoon session.

Following the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and adopted by the Meghalaya education department, the MTET qualifying certificate will have lifetime validity.

Candidates who experience difficulties while downloading their admit cards can contact the DERT helpdesk through email. They may also visit their nearest District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) centre or the DERT office in Shillong along with their acknowledgement slip to receive a printed copy of the hall ticket.
