The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the examination date for the Integrated 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary) 2026. According to the official notification issued by the Commission, the preliminary examination will be conducted on July 26, 2026.

The BPSC 72nd CCE Preliminary Examination will be held in a single shift from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at various examination centres across different districts of Bihar. The official examination schedule has been released through a notice issued by the Controller of Examinations, BPSC, Patna.

BPSC’s Major Recruitment Drive Background

The announcement of the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination follows the completion of the BPSC 70th Combined Competitive Examination recruitment process.

The Commission recently announced the final result of the 70th BPSC CCE, recommending 2,027 candidates for appointment in different Bihar government services. This was one of the largest selections made by BPSC in its state services examination history.

In the final merit list, Shraddha Pandey from Uttar Pradesh secured the first position, while Shashank Pandey and Aksh Vijoy ranked second and third, respectively. Several women candidates also secured positions among the top-ranked candidates.

Previous BPSC Recruitment Cycle Witnessed High Participation

The 70th BPSC Combined Competitive Examination received a massive response from candidates. Around 4.83 lakh applicants registered for the recruitment process.

The preliminary examination was conducted on December 13, 2024, across 911 examination centres in 37 districts of Bihar. Due to reported issues at the Bapu Examination Complex in Patna, the exam at that centre was cancelled and later conducted again on January 4, 2025, at 22 centres in Patna.

A total of 3,28,990 candidates appeared for the preliminary examination. The recruitment process included 2,027 vacancies, comprising posts from various state government departments, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) positions, and Financial Administrative Officer posts.
