The State Bank of India (SBI) will conclude the online application process for the Probationary Officer (PO) Recruitment 2026 today. Eligible candidates who have not yet applied can submit their applications through the official SBI website before the registration window closes.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 1,500 Probationary Officer vacancies across the country.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university. As per the notification, candidates should be between 21 and 30 years of age as on April 1, 2026. Eligible candidates must have been born between April 2, 1996, and April 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive).

SBI PO 2026 Selection Process

After the registration process concludes, SBI will issue preliminary examination admit cards to eligible candidates. The preliminary exam call letters are expected to be released during the second or third week of July 2026.

The SBI PO Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be conducted in August 2026 in online mode.

SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern

The preliminary examination will consist of 100 objective-type questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Candidates will have one hour to complete the test.

The paper will include three sections:

• English Language: 40 questions

• Quantitative Aptitude: 30 questions

• Reasoning Ability: 30 questions

Selection for the next stage will be based on the overall marks obtained in the preliminary examination. SBI has clarified that there will be no sectional cut-off in the prelims, and the merit list will be prepared category-wise based on aggregate scores.

Pre-Examination Training (PET)

SBI will conduct online Pre-Examination Training (PET) for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD categories, in line with Government of India guidelines.

Candidates interested in availing the training must select the relevant option while filling out the online application form. They will be able to access the training by logging in to the bank's website using their registration number and date of birth. The training schedule will be communicated through the candidates' registered email ID and mobile number. No printed communication will be sent.

Application Fee

The application fee is:

• Rs 750 for candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories.

• No application fee for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.

SBI has stated that the application fee, once paid, is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any future recruitment process.
