Description
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has published the UPTET Provisional Answer Key 2026 on its official website. Candidates who appeared for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) can now review the tentative answer key and verify their responses. Alongside the release, the commission has also opened the online objection portal from July 8, allowing candidates to challenge any discrepancies they identify in the provisional answers.
Provisional Answer Key Available for Paper 1 and Paper 2
The draft answer key has been issued for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can download the PDF corresponding to their examination paper, compare it with their recorded responses, and estimate their expected scores before the results are announced.
To access the answer key, candidates should visit the official UPESSC website, open the answer key section, select the relevant paper, and download the PDF. While checking responses, they must ensure they are referring to the correct question booklet series, such as Set A, B, C, or D.
Online Objection Facility Active Until July 14
Candidates who find errors in the provisional answer key can submit objections through the online portal until July 14. The commission has clarified that objections sent through offline modes, including post, email, fax, or any other method, will not be accepted.
To raise an objection, candidates need to log in using their registration number and date of birth. After selecting the relevant examination details, they must identify the question they wish to challenge and upload valid supporting documents. UPESSC has advised candidates to cite reliable academic references, such as NCERT or SCERT textbooks, while submitting their objections. After successful submission, candidates should download or print the confirmation receipt for future reference.
Marking Scheme and Result Process
According to the examination scheme, each correct response carries one mark, while incorrect or unanswered questions receive zero marks. There is no negative marking in the UPTET examination.
Since the test was conducted in multiple shifts, the commission will apply a normalisation process before preparing the final results.
To qualify, candidates from the General category must score 90 out of 150 marks, while candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are required to obtain 82 marks.
After evaluating all objections, UPESSC will release the final answer key, which will serve as the basis for preparing the UPTET Result 2026. Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria will be awarded the UPTET Eligibility Certificate in accordance with the applicable validity guidelines.
