Description

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the provisional answer key for the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination, which was held on June 21, 2026. Alongside the answer key, the agency has activated the online facility that allows candidates to challenge any answer they believe is incorrect.

As per the official notification, students can submit objections from June 25 to June 28, 2026, by paying a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question at the time of submission. However, if the expert committee accepts the challenge, the fee paid for that particular question will be refunded in full.

Why the Challenge Window Opened Early

NTA explained that the answer key challenge process has been launched simultaneously with the release of the provisional answer key, despite the ongoing scanning of OMR answer sheets. According to the agency, this decision has been taken to ensure greater transparency and to provide candidates with an early opportunity to review the answers for all four question paper sets.

The agency also stated that initiating expert evaluation of challenges while OMR scanning is underway will help speed up the preparation of the final answer key and the declaration of results.

Candidates have been instructed to submit objections only for the Question Paper Series Code corresponding to their own question booklet, as mentioned on the cover page of the booklet they retained after the examination. If any challenge is found valid, the correction will be implemented uniformly across all four paper sets.

Once the objection window closes, subject experts will examine every challenge. If any answer is revised after review, the updated response will be included in the final answer key, which will be used to calculate scores and prepare the final results.

NTA has clarified that the final answer key will be considered conclusive, and no further objections or grievances regarding the answer key will be accepted after the challenge period ends or once the results are declared.
