The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to announce the Class 10 Second Board Examination Result 2026 in the coming days. While the board has not yet released an official result date, students who appeared for the Phase 2 examination are eagerly awaiting their scorecards.

As candidates wait for the results, past supplementary examination statistics provide insight into student performance trends over the last few years.

CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Exam Performance Trends

In 2025, a total of 1,38,898 students appeared for the Class 10 supplementary examination. Out of these, 67,620 candidates successfully passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 48.68%.

The performance showed a significant improvement compared to 2024, when only 37,957 students out of 1,27,473 candidates cleared the examination. The pass percentage that year stood at 29.78%.

In 2023, 60,551 students qualified out of 1,27,622 examinees, taking the overall pass percentage to 47.40%.

Previous Years' Results Analysis

The data indicates fluctuations in pass rates over the years, with a notable recovery in 2025 following the comparatively lower success rate recorded in 2024.

First Year of CBSE's Two-Exam Board System

The 2026 academic session is particularly important as it marks the implementation of CBSE's revised two-exam board structure for Class 10 students.

Under the new system, students are provided an additional opportunity to improve their performance by appearing in a second board examination if they wish to enhance their scores after the first attempt.

Reports suggest that more than 6.68 lakh students appeared for the second board examination this year. Among all subjects, Science witnessed the highest number of registrations, followed by Mathematics and Social Science.

A considerable number of students also opted for various regional and foreign language subjects, while comparatively fewer candidates registered for specialized subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Tourism, Music, and Painting.
