The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) closed the registration process for the SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Examination 2026 on June 22, 2026. During this period, around 28 lakh candidates applied for the exam, which is expected to be held in August or September 2026.

However, SSC has now decided to reopen the application window after receiving multiple requests from aspirants who could not complete their registration within the deadline due to various reasons.

SSC CGL 2026 Registration Reopened

The Commission has reopened the online application process for a limited period of two days. Candidates can now apply from June 23, 2026 (11:00 PM) to June 25, 2026 (11:00 PM). The final deadline for submitting applications has been extended to June 25, 2026.

Applicants can also pay the application fee until June 26, 2026 (11:00 PM) through the official website.

Revised SSC CGL 2026 Important Dates

• Online Application Start Date: May 21, 2026

• Last Date to Apply: June 25, 2026 (earlier June 22, 2026)

• Last Date for Fee Payment: June 26, 2026 (earlier June 23, 2026)

• Correction Window: July 1 to July 3, 2026 (previously June 29 to July 1, 2026)

SSC has clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the official notification dated May 21, 2026, will remain unchanged.

SSC CGL 2026 Vacancies and Salary Structure

The SSC CGL 2026 notification was released on May 21, 2026, announcing approximately 12,256 vacancies across various government departments.

The Tier I examination is likely to be conducted in August or September 2026, while Tier II is expected in December 2026.

Pay Levels Under SSC CGL 2026

Selected candidates will be placed under different pay levels as follows:

• Pay Level 8: Rs 47,600 – Rs 1,51,100

• Pay Level 7: Rs 44,900 – Rs 1,42,400

• Pay Level 6: Rs 35,400 – Rs 1,12,400

• Pay Level 5: Rs 29,200 – Rs 92,300

• Pay Level 4: Rs 25,500 – Rs 81,100
