Description

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including universities and autonomous colleges, to upload students’ academic records for the Examination Year 2025 on the National Academic Depository (NAD) and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platforms by June 30, 2026.

Final Deadline – June 30, 2026

UGC has clearly stated that June 30 will be the final date for uploading academic records. After this deadline, no new uploads will be permitted on the NAD-ABC system. However, corrections or modifications to already uploaded data may be allowed only in exceptional cases, following the prescribed procedures of the platform.

What Institutions Must Upload

Higher education institutions are required to upload the following academic records:

  • Marksheets

  • Grade sheets

  • Credit-related data

  • Other academic records related to Examination Year 2025

Institutions have also been asked to review their current upload status and ensure that all pending records are completed before the deadline.

Purpose of the Directive

The advisory aligns with a communication from the Ministry of Education (MoE), which emphasizes linking students’ academic records with their Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID. Timely data submission will support the smooth functioning of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) system, enabling students to benefit from credit accumulation, transfer, and redemption facilities.

Linked to NEP 2020 Vision

UGC stated that the initiative supports the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which promotes a flexible, multidisciplinary, and credit-based education framework. This system aims to create multiple entry and exit options and encourage lifelong learning opportunities.

The Commission has urged all institutions to complete the uploading process on the NAD-ABC platform before the deadline to ensure uninterrupted academic record management and credit services for students.
