WBCAP 2026 Merit List Released – Key Details And Admission Schedule

Description

The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) has announced the WBCAP 2026 merit list on June 9. Students who applied through the Common Admission Process (CAP) can now view the list on the official portal and on the websites of the respective colleges.

The merit lists have been prepared by each Higher Education Institution (HEI) based on candidates’ Class 12 board exam marks. Alongside the merit list, colleges have also published seat allocation lists for the selected students.

Admission Process for Selected Candidates

  • Students whose names appear on the merit list can either accept the allotted seat or opt for upgradation to be considered for a higher-preference college in the next round.

  • To confirm admission, candidates must pay the required semester fee online within the specified deadline.

Key Dates

  • First Merit List Admission: June 9 to June 15

  • Upgraded Round Merit List and Seat Allocation: June 20

  • Admissions for Upgraded Round: June 20 to June 23

  • Physical Document Verification (for admitted students): June 27 to July 4

  • Commencement of Classes: July 6

How to Check the WBCAP 2026 Merit List

  • Visit official website.

  • Click on the “Merit List” tab

  • Select your university and college

  • The merit list for the selected college will appear

  • Download the list and search for your name

Candidates will need their WBCAP login credentials to check seat allocation and admission status. Once selected, students must pay the admission fee via their respective college portals.

Mop-Up Round Details

  • Vacant Seats Announcement: July 7

  • Applications for Mop-Up Round: July 7 to July 16

  • Merit List for Mop-Up Round: July 19

  • Admissions for Mop-Up Round: July 19 to July 22

  • Upgraded Round for Mop-Up Phase: July 26

  • Admissions Continue Until: July 29

  • Physical Verification (Mop-Up Admissions): August 2 to August 5

This schedule ensures all students have multiple opportunities to secure their preferred seats in participating colleges.
