The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has published the first mock seat allotment result for JoSAA Counselling 2026. Candidates who have completed the choice-filling process can now view their provisional allotment status by visiting the official JoSAA portal.

The mock allotment has been prepared based on the choices submitted by candidates up to 8 PM on June 7, 2026. This provisional allocation allows aspirants to assess their chances of admission and make changes to their preferences before the final seat allotment rounds.

JoSAA Counselling 2026: Important Dates

The Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled to be announced on June 13, 2026. Following the declaration of results, candidates who receive seats must complete the online reporting process, upload required documents, and pay the admission fee within the prescribed timeline.

The online reporting and fee payment process will begin on June 13, while the deadline for Round 1 fee submission is June 26, 2026.

Institutes Participating in JoSAA Counselling 2026

JoSAA will conduct admissions for 138 premier technical institutions across India for the 2026–27 academic session. These include:

• 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)

• Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru

• 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs)

• Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur

• 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)

• 56 Other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)

Seat Allocation Process

Seats are allotted under various reservation categories, including:

• Open

• GEN-EWS

• OBC-NCL

• SC

• ST

• Open-PwD

• GEN-EWS-PwD

• OBC-NCL-PwD

• SC-PwD

• ST-PwD

Admission to IITs and IISc is based on candidates' ranks in JEE Advanced 2026, while seat allocation for NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and other GFTIs is carried out using JEE Main 2026 ranks.
