Description
On 4 June 2026, a total of 17 projects and initiatives were selected for the National Awards for e-Governance 2026, recognising outstanding achievements in digital governance and public service delivery across seven award categories. The awards honour innovative efforts by Union ministries, state governments, local bodies, and public institutions that have enhanced governance through technology. The winners will be recognised at the 29th National Conference on e-Governance, which is scheduled to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Key Projects Recognised
Among the selected initiatives is Agri Stack, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, which aims to strengthen digital services for the agriculture sector. Another notable project is Mahakumbh 2025, implemented by the Prayagraj Mela Authority in Uttar Pradesh to support the management of one of the world's largest religious gatherings.
The Blood Bag Traceability and Citizen Interaction Portal, developed by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), was also recognised for improving transparency and efficiency in blood management services. Additionally, TRINETRA, an artificial intelligence-powered video surveillance system deployed in the Mahakal Rudrasagar Integrated Development Area in Ujjain and associated with the Mahakaleshwar Temple Trust, received recognition for its innovative use of AI in public monitoring and safety.
Governance and Administrative Reforms
The awards also highlighted the Panchayat Advancement Index, a data-driven initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj designed to assess and strengthen governance at the panchayat level. The index supports evidence-based decision-making and improved local administration.
The National Awards for e-Governance continue to promote excellence in digital transformation, administrative reforms, and citizen-centric service delivery. The 2026 awardees represent diverse sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, public safety, and local governance, showcasing the growing role of technology in improving governance across India.
