Description

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has launched a new interdisciplinary MA in Media Studies programme under the Centre for Media Studies, School of Social Sciences. The course integrates media theory with practical exposure, focusing on key areas such as media, politics, society, digital communication, culture, and research methodologies.

Admission to this programme will be conducted through the CUET PG 2026 process.

About the MA in Media Studies Programme at JNU

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Centre for Media Studies (CMS) aims to explore the intersection of media, technology, politics, and culture. The newly introduced MA programme is designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical training in media studies.

The course encourages students to critically examine the evolving media landscape shaped by digital technologies and social transformation.

The Centre offers the following academic options:

  • Two-year MA in Media Studies

  • One-year MA in Media Studies

The School promotes a multidisciplinary academic environment where students can take courses across different centres based on their interests and academic goals, while maintaining strong discipline-specific training.
