Description

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that candidates impacted by a technical issue during the CUET UG 2026 held on May 30 will be given another opportunity to take the test. The re-examination for affected candidates is scheduled for June 6 and June 7, 2026, and fresh admit cards are now available for download from the official CUET portal.

In a statement on X, the NTA noted, “Updated admit cards are now available for candidates affected by CUET (UG) 2026. The revised examination dates are June 6 and June 7. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official portal.”

This announcement follows a technical glitch that delayed the start of Shift 1 of the exam at several centres. According to the agency, 3,765 candidates who were forced to leave their centres due to the disruption will now be allowed to retake the exam through a one-time special arrangement.

Technical Glitch Details

The issue was reported by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which manages the examination logistics. A technical problem on TCS’s end delayed the start of the exam in some centres on May 30. As a result, the afternoon shift was rescheduled, with candidates asked to report at 2:30 PM, while the exam began at 4:00 PM instead of the originally scheduled 3:00 PM.

The NTA assured candidates that full compensatory time would be granted, ensuring no student loses examination time due to the disruption. Candidates who completed biometric registration but could not finish the test will also be eligible for the re-examination.

About CUET UG

Since 2025, the exam has been conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, aimed at improving standardisation, efficiency, and overall logistics for nationwide administration.
