The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced revised dates for the NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) CBT 1 examination. Candidates appearing for the exam can check the updated schedule on the official websites of their respective regional RRBs.

The initial CBT 1, which was held on May 7, 8, and 9, 2026, has already been conducted. The newly revised exam dates are June 13, 14, 15, 16 to 20, 2026.

Exam Pattern and Details

• Duration: 90 minutes

• Total Questions: 100

  • General Awareness: 40 questions

  • Mathematics: 30 questions

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions

The first stage CBT is primarily a screening test. The questions are designed in line with the educational standards required for the posts. The normalized scores from CBT 1 will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.

• Exam City Slip: Released 10 days before the exam

• E-Call Letters: Available 4 days prior to the exam date

• A new page will open showing the revised exam dates.

• Download the notice and keep a copy for reference.

Vacancy Details and Selection Process

This recruitment drive aims to fill 3,058 vacancies, including:

• Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: 2,424 posts

• Accounts Clerk cum Typist: 394 posts

• Junior Clerk cum Typist: 163 posts

• Trains Clerk: 77 posts

The selection process includes:

• 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• 2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) – where applicable

• Document Verification/Medical Examination
