The CTET comprises two papers:

Child Development & Pedagogy: 30 questions on child growth, learning psychology, inclusive education, and understanding children with special needs.
Language 1 & Language 2: 30 questions assessing language proficiency and communication skills. Note: Language 2 must differ from Language 1.
Mathematics: 30 questions covering topics such as geometry, numbers, arithmetic operations, data handling, and volume.
Environmental Studies (EVS): 30 questions based on NCERT classes 1–5, including themes like Family & Friends, Food, Shelter, and Water.

Paper 2 targets upper primary teachers, with questions reflecting the senior secondary curriculum level. The paper includes the following sections:
