National Testing Agency has extended the application deadline for the UGC NET June 2026 examination following requests from candidates who needed additional time to complete the registration process.

In an official notice released on May 20, the agency stated that the extension was granted after receiving multiple representations from aspirants. With the revised schedule, candidates now have an extra three days to submit their application forms online.

UGC NET is a national-level eligibility examination conducted for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, admission to PhD programmes, and PhD-only courses offered by universities and colleges across the country.

As per the updated schedule announced by National Testing Agency, candidates can now submit their online applications until May 23, 2026, up to 10 am. Earlier, the last date for registration was May 20, 2026.

The deadline for payment of the examination fee has also been extended. Applicants can now complete the fee payment process until May 23, 2026, by 11:50 pm.

Additionally, the application correction window has been revised. Candidates will now be able to edit their submitted application details from May 25 to May 27, 2026. Previously, the correction facility was scheduled to remain open from May 22 to May 24.

Candidates are advised to complete the registration process before the deadline to avoid technical issues or heavy website traffic during the final hours.

The agency has also instructed applicants to regularly visit the official website for updates related to examination dates, admit cards, and city intimation slips.

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the online application process:

• Visit the official UGC NET website.

• Click on the “UGC NET June 2026 Registration” link.

• Complete the registration by entering basic details such as name, mobile number, and email ID.

• Log in using the generated application number and password.

• Fill in personal, academic, and examination details carefully.

• Upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

• Pay the application fee using the available online payment options.

• Review the entered details before final submission.

• Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
