Description
The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, along with the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), has issued the NEST 2026 admit card on the official website, nestexam.in.
Candidates who successfully registered for the National Entrance Screening Test can access and download their hall tickets by logging in with their application number or user ID and password.
The NEST 2026 entrance examination will be conducted on June 6, 2026, for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programmes in Basic Sciences offered by participating institutions.
Students appearing for the exam must bring a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo identification document to the examination venue. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card, passport, driving licence, or a college identity card.
According to the examination authorities, entry to the examination hall may be denied if candidates fail to carry the required documents.

Candidates can follow the instructions below to access the hall ticket:
First visit the official website.
Click on the “Download Admit Card” link on the homepage
Enter the application number or user ID along with the password
Submit the login credentials
Download the admit card and print a copy for future reference

After downloading the admit card, candidates should verify all the details carefully, including their name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date and timing, test centre information, reporting time, and important exam instructions. If any discrepancy is found, candidates should contact the examination authorities immediately for rectification.
NEST 2026 exam pattern and marking scheme
The NEST 2026 exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will last for three hours. The question paper will include four sections — Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
Each section will contain 20 multiple-choice questions carrying a maximum of 60 marks. Candidates are required to attempt at least three out of the four sections.
For every correct response, candidates will receive three marks, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the best scores obtained in any three sections out of the four.
