Bihar School Examination Board has extended the deadline for Class 11 admissions through the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS) for the 2026-28 academic session. Students who received seat allotments in the first merit list can now complete their admission process until May 18, 2026.

Earlier, the admission process was scheduled between May 5 and May 12. The board stated that the extension was granted to help students who could not complete the admission formalities within the original timeframe. Officials have also clarified that this will be the final extension for securing seats allotted under the first merit list.

Important instructions for schools and students

The board has directed all participating schools and colleges to regularly update admission details on the OFSS portal.

Institutions have been instructed to upload admission data for May 14 admissions by May 15, while admissions completed on May 18 must be updated by May 19. According to the latest notification, all online verification and data entry related to Class 11 admissions must be completed before May 19, 2026.

BSEB also warned that students who fail to complete the admission process within the revised deadline will lose their allotted seats. These vacant seats will later be filled through the second merit list.

Documents required for admission

Students must carry the following documents while visiting their allotted school or college for admission:

• Class 10 marksheet

• Pass certificate

• School leaving certificate

• Migration certificate

• Character certificate

• Caste certificate (if applicable)

• Passport-size photographs

• Photocopies of all necessary documents

How to check OFSS Bihar Class 11 selection status

Students can check their allotment status and download the intimation letter by following these steps:

• Visit the official OFSS Bihar website

• Log in using the registered user ID and password

• Open the selection status section

• Check the details of the allotted school or college

• Download and print the intimation letter

• Report to the allotted institution with all required documents to complete admission formalities

The board has advised students to complete the admission process within the extended schedule to avoid cancellation of their allotted seats.
