Description

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test September 2026 examination. The online application process for the September 2026 session will begin on May 11, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official websites, CTET and CBSE.

As per the official schedule, the 22nd edition of CTET will be conducted on September 6, 2026, for both Paper I and Paper II. The examination is expected to take place in 132 cities across India and will be available in 27 languages.

Candidates can complete and submit their application forms until June 10, 2026, by 11:59 pm. The fee payment deadline is also set for the same date and time.

CTET September 2026: Key Dates

  • Online registration begins: May 11, 2026

  • Last date to apply online: June 10, 2026, till 11:59 pm

  • Last date for fee payment: June 10, 2026, till 11:59 pm

  • Application correction window: June 15 to June 18, 2026

  • Admit card release: Two days before the examination

  • CTET exam date: September 6, 2026 (Sunday)

  • Tentative result announcement: By the end of October 2026

The board has further stated that if the number of applications is higher than expected, the exam may also be conducted on September 5, 2026.

Exam City Allocation

CBSE has clarified that applicants will not have the option to choose their examination city during registration. Examination centres will be allotted randomly by the board, and requests for changing the allotted city will not be entertained.

Information Bulletin Soon

The detailed information bulletin, including eligibility requirements, syllabus, application fee, available languages, and exam city details, will soon be published on the official CTET and CBSE websites.

Candidates are advised to carefully review the information bulletin before filling out the online application form. CBSE has also informed that applications will be accepted only through the official CTET portal and the CBSE website.
