The selection process for RRB NTPC consists of multiple stages:

1. First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 1)

  • Type: Objective (MCQs)

  • Duration: 90 minutes

  • Total Questions: 100

  • Marks: 100

Section-wise Distribution:

  • General Awareness – 40 Questions

  • Mathematics – 30 Questions

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning – 30 Questions

Key Points:

  • Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer

  • Qualifying in nature

  • Used for shortlisting candidates for CBT 2

2. Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 2)

  • Marks: 120
