The National Testing Agency (National Testing Agency) has reopened the city reallocation window for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. This step has been taken to assist candidates who could not be assigned their preferred exam cities due to limited capacity at certain centres.

As per the official update, out of 15,68,866 registered candidates, around 96.6% were allotted one of their preferred cities, while nearly 79% received their first choice. However, about 3.4% of applicants were not accommodated in their selected locations due to high demand.

Such candidates can now opt for alternative cities through the reallocation facility available on the official CUET portal. The allotment will be done strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, making it important for applicants to act promptly.

Candidates Urged to Apply Quickly

The NTA has advised eligible candidates to complete the reallocation process without delay, as available options may decrease rapidly. Candidates should also carefully review details such as exam city, centre, date, and shift mentioned on their admit cards and plan their travel accordingly, especially if changes are made.

Steps to Apply for CUET UG 2026 City Reallocation

Follow the steps below to request a change in exam city:

• Visit the CUET UG official website.

• Log in using your application number and password or date of birth

• Check your currently allotted exam city, date, and shift

• Click on the “City Reallocation” option on the dashboard

• View the list of available cities based on your exam schedule

• Select a suitable city from the options provided

• Submit your choice and save the confirmation for reference

• After reallocation, verify updated details on your admit card once issued
