Description

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has extended the registration deadline for JEE Advanced 2026 to May 5. Candidates who have qualified in JEE Main are eligible to apply and must complete the registration process on the official website before the closing date.

JEE Advanced serves as the primary entrance examination for undergraduate programs in engineering, science, and architecture offered by IITs, IISc, and other premier institutes in India. The exam is conducted every year by one of the seven zonal IITs, and for 2026, IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute.

To be eligible, candidates must have appeared for their Class 12 or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. Students who have already been admitted to any IIT under the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Business Rules 2025 are not eligible to apply.

In terms of age criteria, candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. A relaxation of five years is applicable for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Each candidate is allowed a maximum of two attempts in two consecutive years.

The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode and will include two compulsory papers covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each paper will have a duration of three hours.

Registration for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates will begin from April 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

  • Last date to apply: May 5, 2026

  • Admit card release: May 11, 2026 (5:00 PM)

  • Last date to download admit card: May 17, 2026 (2:30 PM)

  • Exam date: May 17, 2026

How to apply for JEE Advanced 2026

  • First visit the official website.

  • Click on the registration link

  • Log in using JEE Main 2026 application number and password

  • Fill in personal and academic details

  • Upload required documents

  • Pay the application fee online

  • Submit the form

  • Download and save the confirmation page

The application fee is non-refundable. It is Rs 3,200 for General category candidates and Rs 1,600 for female candidates, SC, ST, and PwD applicants.
