Description
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an official advisory detailing the dress code and list of allowed items for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026, at various exam centres across the country.
Released under the guidance of the National Medical Commission, the notice aims to ensure consistency and smooth management of the examination process. Candidates have been instructed to carefully follow all guidelines and cooperate with officials at the centres.
Dress code and security checks
According to the advisory, students are advised to wear light and comfortable clothing on the exam day. Full-sleeved outfits and woollen clothes are allowed if necessary, but candidates wearing such attire must arrive early to allow extra time for security screening and frisking.
In terms of footwear, slippers and sandals with low heels are recommended. This is intended to speed up the verification process at entry points and minimise delays.
Allowed items at the exam centre
Candidates are permitted to carry transparent water bottles inside the examination hall. Items worn for religious or cultural reasons are also allowed, provided candidates report in advance for proper checking. These items will undergo thorough inspection as part of standard security procedures.
No other items beyond those specified are allowed inside the exam hall. Students must strictly adhere to the guidelines to avoid any inconvenience during entry.
